Lord knows in normal content you have players who don't even know what a group buff is so raising your bloodpressure over 1 GCD is moot.
The game is extremely rigid. Having your rotation interrupted is often extremely unpleasant to the flow of the game, as it has cascading effects that can in some cases last for the entire remainder of an encounter. Not to mention, most casual content is boring as hell, and you end up getting denied one of the few fun things you actually get to do in it (greeding).
