Changes to Savage with 6.2

New tomestones out at 6.2 but savage is not being released at this point so you have more weeks of tomestones going into savage.

With the extreme trial also being released this means that on savage release you will be have x amounts of tomestones in your bag for gear and extreme trial weapon with +5ilvl above the crafted weapon.

This has 2 effects,

First it makes savage even easier then before with the health gain from ilvl upgrades compared to previous tiers.

Secondly the already non-existant dps check will be even less existant.

Tldr:
I do not mind savage being pushed back a week or two after a patch update but please don't ruin the crafted gear/tomestones/trail iteration that has been existing since stormblood. If you really want to do something to savage remove that stupid doorboss checkpoint or add a piece of upgrade loot to the doorboss which is something we actually have been asking for a long time instead.

I lol'd. You think one week will invalidate the crafted gear? The crafted gear will always be better until you get a tomestone piece or a raid drop to replace that piece meaning it takes weeks to invalidate them. The crafted weapon alone will likely last at least a month.

I'll take that bet. I feel my weapon alone would equate to perhaps ILevel 130 ish...so I can see it being soloable with my abilities. I'll let ya know how it goes...for better or worse.

So I did Ultima last night in my underwear and my axe. I was Ilvl 95 with just the weapon so I figured it'd be a decent fight...

nope...

I straight up got it to 0.1 HP almost immediately and had to just sit there as they pull theatrics and go through the entire phase of Titan and Garuda. I got some push-ups in while waiting on him to figure out he was already dead.

If tomestone and crafting gear aren't released the same day as savage we will be officially in unknown territory. So, maybe they slightly increased week one savage difficulty too? Who knows?
It's not like they took the decision at the last second, they probably thought about it when they designed the upcoming tier.

How do you figure? Doesn't the tome weapon require several weeks' worth of additional items from the normal mode counterpart? 4 weeks' worth to be exact.
