I seriously doubt that any reason SE gave for not giving the "instanced housing" crowd everything they want would make that crowd less unhappy...
SE wins by... (not) ...engaging in pointless interchanges with malcontents.

We'll agree to disagree on that one. Personally, I've always found customer feedback useful but of course, your milage may vary.

I assume it's much easier to be contented with the present system when you were able to put in multiple bids and have already won the house you wanted.

This round (July 10 start) I have made 8 entries on a small in the Lavender Beds. Last I checked there were 18 entries total, giving me about a 44% chance of winning.

Fair play for working out how to improve your odds and congrats on your win, but maybe spare a thought for the less fortunate.
