Should I do Relic Weapon For ARR?

I have the basic ARR relic for my WAR cause the orange glow on the entire weapon looks pretty sweet. It's not overly glowie(sp) though

I keep a relic for each expansion active at all times, just for any moment I might feel bored doing something else and maybe decide to climb a step or two.

For ARR, I don't really think the books are all that bad. The leves kinda suck, especially if the one you need isn't on the list and you have to run a different one just to get it up. The dungeons.. a few of them make a nice excuse to run my squadron to boost them up, but obviously they're all quick and easy to unsync, too.

No, the bad parts come after that, when you need all the low level materia. You're either digging into your pockets to shell out for it on the MB, or taking a pretty big detour trying to spiritbond for your own supply. It's doable, but feels awful.
The light phase after isn't much better, either. Obviously nobody's keen to run more Crystal Tower for the biggest gains, but you're still running ARR dungeons repeatedly, leading to burnout fast. Personally, even though FATEs are the worst for light gain, I may still do some of this by grinding skirmishes in Bozja, just for the multitasking...

Overall, relics were absolutely not meant to be busted out all at once. The steps were originally introduced slowly over time, and trying to force the grind is going to be a terrible experience. If you really want one, just keep it on the back burner to chip away at from time to time when you need a break. Let it be something mindless to do while you watch some tv or something.

I know you all say don’t bother with it or wait but neglected to tell y’all that I used to play wow with all kinds of grinds like reputations to torghast it’s self. If the books are not as bad as rep, torghast, or warlords of dreanor I think I can do it. If not then I will wait.

As someone who remembers old rep grinds like Shen'dralar or Ravenholdt, the relics are nothing. If you want them for glam or for the story, I say go for it.

Ha that's nothing compared to the ARR relic grind if you want the zeta weapon. Be prepared for RNG 'rep grind'.

With how it was nerfed post ARR, it's actually not that bad for the drops. Sure, it can still take some time, but I find the books to be the absolute worst since even if you are clearing other FATEs to try and force the ones you need, it takes a LONG time for some of them to come up. The light grinding(both) can easily be done doing Stone Vigil unsynced, and just running through the whole thing smacking only what you need to for progressing through. Back in ShB I was doing sub 5min runs of it, on classes that weren't decked out in current endgame gear.

If you all do play wow I’m not punishing anyone who plays it. If people still find joy in that game then please play on but for me wow is over but the ff14 story begins.

Howdy y’all,
Ok so I’m interested in only doing one arr relic and this is doing the dragoon one. I’m on the book quest and want to know should I quit or finish the relic weapon? My Goth Rog would look awesome with it and I love glamour but I don’t want to feel burned out. I’m still on arr and I finished the crystal tower. My dragoon is 71 and I’m on arr part 2. So what do y’all think ?

Well, it depends if you like the skin.

If it's for Drg doing the HW one, it's still the best skin for me.

And the ARR relics... Well, it still remains for me the most boring way to do it and long for nothing.
