To start with I've been slowly seeing more and more people posting about lag that resembles packet loss over the course of the last couple weeks including myself and I thought I should also make a topic about it.

For some background, I live in the US. I have XFinity. I am on a ethernet connection, 1 gbps.

For the past couple weeks at least I've had what resembles large amounts of packet loss while playing. It can last for only a second or two or it'll last at least 10-15 and time will essentially freeze, then everything will catch back up all at once in a massive slideshow. This really makes progging in DSR almost impossible and I cannot perform reliably at all for my team. FFXIV is also the only game I'm having this ridiculous performance.

Ive had multiple XFinity teams come to my house and check and make sure the problem wasn't me, I even got a new drop and new cables in my house as they were kind of old and the problem persists especially at peak game time.

I also have done various tracerts and pingplotter tests. At least two hops in the tracerts will just time out on me and they're not even in my area but on the west coast in California. Pingplotter tells me around 80% packetloss on the node right before the FFXIV servers.

The two hops that give the most packet loss are addressed as:

ae-2.r24snjsca04.us.bb.gin.ntt.net - Around 50% PL
204.2.229.230 - Around 80% PL

The only way I can play in DSR is if I try to use a VPN or my phone's internet and then all the loss is gone. It's kind of ridiculous I can't use my own internet anymore and I hope Square is able to fix it soon as it's already been almost a month since this has started for me. I've submitted tracerts awhile ago from the lodestone post back in June I think and this is still going on and I would like this to get addressed soon :[
