Hello, i wanted to ask you all what you love(d) about EW. Can be story or instances, music etc.
I loved the story in Garlemald and the transformations in Thavnair.

I loved the story in Garlemald and the transformations in Thavnair.
Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless
For me it was the cutscenes of the starship taking off and then later returning to Eorzea. Those images were serious eye candy.
My homie Zenos.
I liked Garlemald. Because it was really depressing and i liked the WW1 vibes with the music. And you got an idea how it feels to be a Garlemald citizen without the ability to use magic.
Cheers
Well, the music was certainly top-notch in my opinion. I love 'Footfalls' and have that playing in my car frequently. 'Close in the Distance' and 'Flow' carry a real emotional punch. And it was nice to get some context for 'Answers'
I very much enjoyed the transition into it too - the scenes as we approached Sharlayan for the first time.
The Grand Company of Eorzea gathering in Gyr Abania.
The 'Alphinaud makes a phonecall' scenario, where pretty much everyone we'd met on our journey (to that point) turned up in response.
The launch of the Ragnarok. That was just pure awesome. I mean, the music (Torn from the Heavens) and setting were fantastic, but seeing the Primals in their non- bastardized state, and at their full potential, made me smile no end!
The Soup scene at Camp Brokenglass, with Jullus
But what I loved most? Zenos' appearance toward the end. I loved that it was him of all people who came to our aid, despite his reason for doing so. I loved the fact that he actually took what Alisae said onboard. I loved the fact that the byproduct of his motivation to gain consent from the WoL to fight them once more helped save the universe.
I loved the fight against him too - he was a character I was pretty indifferent about to that point. However, when he addressed us - "not as the hero but as simply.... you" (not the exact dialogue, I know) it made me think how ironic it was that Zenos.... ZENOS of all people... was genuinely considering what we WANTED to do rather than what we HAD to do.
I loved how he referred to us as "simply..... you" and "Adventurer" too. It was certainly the first time anyone had referred to us as such for a long time.
And the fist fight with him at the end? I loved every second of that!
And finally I loved the closing montage, with the Ascians walking toward the Scions, and which ends with that moment pretty much everyone screenshots:
Such a touching moment, and it felt quite Meta too - like the Devs were acknowledging the player's part in getting the game to where it is.
I know Endwalker isn't popular with some, and have mixed feelings about it overall myself, but I still really did love the moments that I've mentioned.
The instances; Metal Gear Thancred and the instance when your soul is in the body of a Garlean. Such good instances! Had the joys of doing it before they reworked it to be easier.
I think there was much to love visually/story wise/musically so I'll just list a couple of things vaguely to mostly avoid spoilers.
- Zenos' self-determinism at the very end of the story.
- Zodiark's theme, period. Especially the part about wings of faith, those parallels are POTTERY.
- The entire ordeal to save the baby in Thavnair
- Body swap and its quest
- Ameliance being a fun character
- Old Sharlayan
- The colored carrots
- Night visit
- Back to the future
- Hydaelyn
- Venat
- The entire scene when taking off
- Seeing the entire world show up to help thanks to the Scion's connections
- Duel at the end of the world
- That, I cannot deny
I had a fun time, cannot lie.

#1 thing for me would be the soundtrack. The Trial themes throughout FFXIV have been some of my favorite pieces, and EW did not disappoint. And with the xpac being the one to "wrap up" the current storyline, I particularly loved how the final trial incorporated motifs from several different xpacs along the way, building to an EW theme.
#2 would be Elpis and the final zone. I loved the storyline in both, and the going back to the musical theme, the way the music was used in the final zone was awesome to me.
#3 would be the callbacks, both to other FF games and earlier parts of FFXIV. In particular, FFIV is my second favorite non-MMO game in the series, and I enjoyed seeing it at last get big references in FFXIV. The final trial phase transition in particular gave me major vibes of one of my favorite moments in the entire FF series. And I really like how even some of the random side-quests incorporate past events. Discovering/realizing what happened to Tataru's carbuncle from soooo long ago, meeting a certain relative of a certain Scion in Sharlayan, etc.. I love how they manage to bring back things from the past in ways that always surprise me and make me smile (or tear up, as the case may be).![]()
I like the "In From The Cold" quest.
I liked it right until they copped out in the end and had Zenos do absolutely nothing of consequence.
... the Loporrits
