Game encounters unexpected error, but stays playable if I just ignore it?

So recently my game has started encountering a lot of issues, crashing to desktop with no error message, giving me a dx11 error message, or just starting to lag at 1-2 fps with 100% GPU usage in task manager after running fine for a while.

This latest error I've encountered really takes the cake though, an unexpected error, which if ignored, seems to not affect the game at all. I can drag the dialogue box to my second screen and keep playing FF, but if I click 'OK' or the X, it closes the game.

I have updated my graphics drivers, done a clean boot by disabling everything in startup settings, reinstalled windows and FF14 completely, run everything in administrator mode, reduced graphics to the absolute minimum, played on windowed, fullscreen, and fullscreen windowed, reinstalled my audio drivers, uninstalled everything related to nvidia and reinstalled the latest drivers, checked eventviewer (no logs), restored game data in the ff14 launcher, all while having little to no apps running in the background at all times.

At this point I'm posting on the forums since I don't really know what else to do, the game is nearly unplayable with the frequency on crashes even though I would still very much like to do so.

I'm sorry to hear about these crashes that you have been experiencing. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game client on a different storage drive? Often times, if it is not installed on your primary drive it could lead to issues. It may also help to turn off fullscreen optimizations. You can do so by finding the executable file for the game, right-clicking it and selecting 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility tab, check the box labeled, 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', and then click 'Apply'.

I thought I'd just update this thread after finding what seemed to have been the solution, since I dislike finding tech support threads that just say "fixed it thanks" while not actually saying how they did.

As it turns out, since some of the crashes had been due to memory (RAM) errors, I decided to check the RAM sticks, call around a bit, and have it tested at a computer repair shop: long story short they were buggered.

2 new sticks of 8gb later and the issues seem to have disappeared. Thanks for the reply, but it seems to have been faulty hardware causing issues. Sadly it was the worst that I feared but such is life sometimes.
