Moonfire Faire 2022 "Summer Sunset Bottoms" should be two separate items

Agreeing to this 100%. I would like to have the option to choose between shorts or the bikini bottom on both my male and female characters.

Just give us options instead of tying more vanity gear to the character's gender, thanks.

A lot of the summer items have been like this, which is bothersome. The "Endless summer bottoms", "Endless summer top", "Faire Kohakama", "Faire Joi", are all completely different from the male to female model. With the effort to try removing the gender locks from a lot of items in the game, I feel like there should be options to have two of each of those items. Stuff like the tops this time around are very similar to eachother, and I like the look of that way better. Like give me the endless summer top and faire joi in the style of the moonfire happi tops, or just something similar. If they're not going to take making beach wear for the female models seriously and just give us 30 versions of bikini bottoms instead of cute swimsuits, they can at the very least give us the option to choose.

I would like to put my two cents in on this as well, but from a male character's perspective. I would love to get the fem bottoms AND shoes from the event and let the girls have the men's bottoms and shoes if they wished.

It sucks to see all these new gender locked items after they spent time trying to undo that on other things.

Making it possible to swap via calamity salvager would be perfect too. Could easily add that to my FCs house for everyone to use to swap items as they wished.

I was so hyped when I first saw the male version and then extremely disappointed when I saw the female. Aside from panties the dudes just straight up have a nicer complimentary pattern and colours.

I think the most insulting thing about this all is that the icon is the male version in any case. So an even sadder reminder of what we got and what we missed.

That's how a lot of icons are. At least when it comes to many things that have it show something different based on gender. Look at any of the icon shows pants, shorts or skirt that turn into micro mini skirts with tights, panties with tights or the rare case of cute shorts for the ladies.

I would have even been fine if they had given the ladies a high waistline brifes or more of those boxer-briefs/biker shorts they did that year they all gave us those waist length Yukatas and found a way to incorporate the design on the shorts on those.

Agreed, I would love to have a long pair of shorts and the flat sandals as well. Fits the highlander vibe so much better.

Had some time to kill and so I figured I'd put together a visual display of the past bikini bottom rewards for those who may not be as familiar.

And after taking and cropping all of these, it dawned on me that I probably should have worn a top that didn't cover the sides, but I don't have it in me to do them all over. I also forgot to do the non-bikini rewards, so I'm on a roll tonight. :P I TOOK MORE PICTURES... but changed the top. Who need consistency?! (if you do, go to earzea collection)

But yeah, a couple of them do have cute little side-ties (southern seas), or metal clasp adornments (summer morning), so they're not entirely basic.

While I used to love getting and collecting all the bikinis out there, I think I'm definitely past the point where I want more of the same style. I'd love some shorts, or more skirts, and I'd REALLY love a one-piece swimsuit (or two or three!).

I imagine if guys put together something similar to this, basic shapes will also show up and they may seem a bit similar as well (I can only picture the speedo options which are seared into my brain), but I feel like at least with trunks you have a bit more workspace than what you get with bikini bottoms.
