Moonfire Faire 2022 "Summer Sunset Bottoms" should be two separate items

I know this has been a heavy focus of discussion in another thread already, but between it not being the actual target of the OP and getting lost amid other discussions in the thread, I wanted to put it front and centre.

The new Moonfire outfits are cool, but the fact that they are provided as a single inventory item while presenting drastically different legwear for male and female characters is frustrating.



All the other pieces make sense to be provided as a single inventory item. The designs are the same or similar with necessary variation for gender.

The legwear, however, is two extremely different designs according to gender, with no chance (now or in future) to ever choose which of the two options you want your character to wear. Even if they were separate and still gender-locked, there would be the possibility to unlock them in future, but here there is no possibility of that happening.

It doesn't seem to line up with other aspects of the game. The newest glamours from both the game (Varsity set) and online store (Street set) have provided nominally gendered designs as separate unisex items. Previous seasonal gendered gear like the Valentione dress and waistcoat were separate items. A lot of work has been put into allowing everyone to equip previously genderlocked glamour gear, and yet for some reason here we are right back to forcing a single style choice by gender.

I hope SE can reconsider this decision and look at introducing a separate item for the female briefs. I realise it couldn't be done for the event itself at this late stage, but perhaps it can be added in later and made available through the Calamity Salvager.

Said thread talks about how bad the male glam is and is currently talking about health care lol. So honestly I don't blame the OP for making a separate thread.

I too, would like to be able to at least wear the male shorts. We have a bunch of different versions of panties, and the only sort of "shorts" that we do get is like, what, the knickers? I would love briefs -- especially as a lala lol.

Frankly, the male shorts are pretty bad, so there is nothing wrong with that. Largely though, the thread is talking about wanting to make these hideous bottoms available for both. The male bottoms are hideous. I can appreciate male players not wanting them, that's for sure.

There's Uraeus Breeches, they are similar to a bike short.
Works well with the Uraeus Body Armor if you like that look.

I can't remember if it exists or not, we could definitely use some non-frills, plain ol' briefs/shorts for both genders. And definitely some basic one pieces that don't look like a dress (looking at you southern seas swimsuit).

Then just make the male one a variation where we get the bra + the necklace or make it so that the shirt covers the goodies. Problem fixed.

The Southern Seas Swimsuit is cute and can make for a lot of glams. Like for healer. I think we could use more stuff like that. The shorts for males from this event look like something you'd get out of a eureka box, and you'd get so many of them, you'd start discarding them instead of selling on the market for it's low value price. As for briefs or shorts, I would like to see more short shorts or equivalent for females, however this is not the event. I quite like the female outfit, the sandals are nice, the outfit itself is nice, It's all pretty good. I am not sure why this is so controversial here. I suspect most people in the game agree with me on this event outfit.

Which is why I dedicated the first paragraph of my post to explaining why I was starting a separate one regardless of it.

A lot of people were expressing the sentiment in there, but it wasn't what the OP was asking for, so the likes on the thread weren't going to reflect it.
