2022 FINAL FANTASY XIV - CRYSTALLINE CONFLICT COMMUNITY CUP (NORTH AMERICA) (THE “PROMOTION”) OFFICIAL RULES

KEY RULES


A. Official Rules: The Official Rules for this Promotion consist of both (i) these key rules summarizing the important rules for participating in the Promotion (the “Key Rules”) and (ii) the Additional Promotion Official Rules (“Additional Rules”) applicable to your place of legal residence. Please review the Additional Rules at the following URL:
B. Territories: This Promotion is open only to individuals who are legal residents and physically and permanently located in one of the following countries/territories at the date and time of entry (the “Promotion Jurisdiction”):
  • The fifty (50) states of the United States of America, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico
  • Canada

C. Age Limit: This Promotion is open only to individuals 13 years of age or older at the date and time of entry.

D. Entry Period: You may enter the Promotion only between Friday, August 12, 2022 at 12:00 a.m. (Pacific Time) and Monday, August 22, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) (the “Entry Period”).

E. Entry Procedure and Limitations: In order to enter the Promotion, you must complete the following steps during the Entry Period (collectively your “Entry”):
General Rules
  • You must possess a North American Square Enix Account and active subscription to FINAL FANTASY XIV (the “Game”).
  • You must have a character on the North American data centers (Aether, Primal, or Crystal) that is able to participate in the Crystalline Conflict Player-versus-Player (PvP) content.
  • Form a team consisting of between five (5) and six (6) players (Team).
    • Each member of the Team must be eligible to enter this Promotion and must have read and agreed to the Official Rules for the Promotion before participating.
      • If a member of the Team is found to be ineligible to enter this promotion, the player and their Team will be disqualified from participating in this Promotion.
    • Each member of the Team must be able to attend the following events:
      • Thursday, September 1, 2022 – Preliminaries (defined below)
      • Friday, September 2, 2022 – Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Finals (each defined below).
    • Each member of the Team must not be participating in other Teams.
      • If a member of the team is found to be in more than one (1) Team, the player and their Team will be disqualified from participating in this Promotion.
    • If any team fails to have at least five (5) eligible members at any time, that Team will be disqualified.
    • Once registration for the Team is completed:
      • No additional member(s) may be added to the Team.
      • Team members cannot be swapped or replaced with other players that were not in the Team’s roster upon completing registration.
  • The Promotion will be canceled if there are less than sixteen (16) teams participating.
  • Any equipment and/or network-related issues will be the responsibility of the player.
  • In a situation where a match cannot advance due to issues such as a server outage, then that match will be null, and a rematch will be held.
  • You must be able to communicate in English.
Bracket Seeding
  • A maximum of sixteen (16) teams will be allowed to participate in the tournament.
    • The tournament will be canceled if there are less than sixteen (16) teams participating.
  • Sponsor shall select Teams through a random drawing among all eligible Teams.
  • Sponsor shall select the sixteen (16) Teams and seed the Teams at Sponsor’s discretion.
  • Sponsor shall determine the bracket seeding using a random drawing among eligible Teams.
  • The final bracket shall be announced on Monday, August 29.
Match Rules for all Stages of the Tournament
A “match” is defined as a series of “rounds” played between two (2) Teams.
Example: In a best-of-three rounds match, the team that wins two (2) rounds will be the winner of the match.
  • During a match, each Team must consist of five (5) players of different jobs.
  • Team members may freely change jobs between rounds if they meet the match requirement.
  • Teams may switch Team members per match, but not per round.
    Example: Switching Team members between Semifinals and Finals are permitted; however, switching Team members between round 1 and round 2 of the Semifinals is not.
  • In-game macros may be used.
  • If a Team cannot participate in a match, chooses not to participate in a match, or otherwise indicates to Sponsor that they will not participate in a match, or if a Team is disqualified during a match, for any reason, the opposing Team shall win the match by default.
  • If a Team is disqualified during the Preliminaries, Semifinals, or Finals (other than during a match), the next eligible Team will take the disqualified Team’s place.
  • Matches will take place on one of the following maps: the Palaistra, the Volcanic Heart, or Cloud Nine. Sponsor shall randomly select the map before each match.

Preliminaries
  • All selected Teams will compete in the preliminaries which will take place on Thursday, September 1, 2022 (the “Preliminaries”).
  • The winners of the Preliminaries are determined by a best-of-one match.
  • Each winning team shall advance to the Quarterfinals.
Quarterfinals
  • The Quarterfinals will take place on Friday, September 2, 2022 (the “Quaterfinals”).
  • The winners of the Quarterfinals are determined by a best-of-one match.
  • Each winning team shall advance to the Semifinals.
Semifinals
  • The Semifinals will take place on Friday, September 2, 2022 (the “Semifinals”).
  • The winners of the Semifinals are determined by a best-of-three match.
  • The remaining two (2) teams in their respective brackets shall advance to the Finals.
Finals
  • The Finals will take place on Friday, September 2, 2022 (“the Finals”).
  • The winners of the Finals are determined by a best-of-three match.
Additional restrictions and terms:
  • The following actions will be prohibited during the tournament:
    • Actions that go against good sportsmanship, honesty, and fair play.
    • Deliberately causing delays or impeding the progress of the tournament.
    • Transferring or selling in any way your permission to participate in the tournament to a third party.
    • Using your participation in the tournament for any monetary gain.
    • Activities that are prohibited by the FINAL FANTASY XIV user agreement.
    • Activities that are listed under FINAL FANTASY XIV Prohibited Activities.
    • Activities that are prohibited by the Square Enix Account Terms of Use.
  • Promotion staff may alter the Promotion or Game structure, or grant variances in the Promotion or Game rules, based on the Sponsor or Sponsor’s designee’s judgment and discretion in order to ensure fair play and results.
  • Sponsor’s decisions are final and cannot be further appealed or challenged.

Team Registration
  • Register your Team using the Team registration form.
    * Each Team will only need to submit one registration per Team.
  • The following information will be required during registration:


F. Prize(s): The winners shall receive the following prize(s):
  • Each member of the grand prize-winning Team shall receive the following prize(s):
    • One (1) Great Paraserpent
    • Three (3) sets of 99 Magitek Torches (99 Red Lotus, 99 Blue Lotus, and 99 Yellow Lotus);
    • One (1) of the following in-game prizes of their choice:
      • One (1) Ahriman Choker;
      • One (1) Mandragora Choker;
      • One (1) Chocobo Noble Barding;
      • One (1) Bluebird Earring;
      • One (1) Scarf of Wondrous Wit;
      • One (1) Gaelicap; or
      • One (1) Modern Aesthetics – Strife.

  • Each member of the four (4) Finalist Teams shall receive the following prizes:
    • Three (3) sets of 99 Magitek Torches (99 Red Lotus, 99 Blue Lotus, and 99 Yellow Lotus);
    • One (1) of the following in-game prizes of their choice:
      • One (1) Ahriman Choker;
      • One (1) Mandragora Choker;
      • One (1) Chocobo Noble Barding;
      • One (1) Bluebird Earring;
      • One (1) Scarf of Wondrous Wit;
      • One (1) Gaelicap; or
      • One (1) Modern Aesthetics – Strife.
  • All other participants shall receive the following prize:
    • Three (3) sets of 99x Magitek Torches (99 Red Lotus, 99 Blue Lotus, and 99 Yellow Lotus);

Each prize is a virtual, in-game item with no monetary value. Prizes cannot be sold or transferred.


G. Winner Notification: Sponsor or Sponsor’s designee, will notify winner(s) of their final placements in the tournament on or about September 2, 2022 via email or direct message.

H. Misc. Rules: You must follow all relevant health and safety guidelines of your video game platform (if applicable) and the following general guidelines: a) take occasional rest breaks during extended play, b) maintain a healthy sleep schedule and diet, c) avoid playing when tired or needing sleep, d) stop playing immediately and consult a doctor if you experience any of the following: lightheadedness, nausea, motion sickness, discomfort or pain, dizziness, eye or muscle twitches, disorientation, involuntary movement, altered visions, loss of awareness, seizures, convulsion, or any other negative physical or mental effects or conditions.

I. Sponsor: The sponsor of this Promotion is Square Enix, Inc.

By entering the Promotion, you agree to be bound and abide by these Key Rules and the Additional Rules applicable to your place of legal residence, and you represent that you satisfy all eligibility requirements to enter the Promotion.
