Not a lighting problem, as one can see that the position of the blade has shifted.
But you say you don't see the problem?
Could you provide a screenie perhaps?
If you look at the pictures he posted further down, you can more easily compare the two. In the second, the blade is a lot lower than how it used to be. Look at the etchings on the blade.

These are completely hidden in the original picture.

Also it only seems to be when it's sheathed parts are misaligned.
When wielded everything seems to line up as it should.
At least I can't seem to find anything when comparing with older pictures.

I tried it on as a female highlander Hyur, and got the hole. I pulled it out of my armoir, dropped it into Gpose, and put on max lighting.
The hole is like a giant splotch of vantablack. That's not a lighting issue, it's definitely a model issue.
But if I had to make a guess, it was a deliberate change, because they reused the model rigging for a different scythe where that shadow makes sense, without realizing it would impact this one this badly.

Mm.. I've had that thought as well.
Shame if it would be that case tho, as it really messed up the Death Scythe's sheathed visuals.
Which it will often be.
I looked through my folder and don't really have any with a clear shot where the hud isn't invisible.
Not like I thought anything like this could occur anyways.
I guess I could try later with a full template.
But seeing how in the information page they say "Reports that do not follow the template will be moved to the Insufficient Information category." yet still it was put in the "Working as Intended" feels like it's already decided.
And there are posts not following the template that are in the "Confirmed/Planning to Address" regardless.

I had it drawn. If I sheath then I can see the problem on both sides. But using the full template and uncropped pictures that don't hide the UI might still help. They could dismiss it as an effect of gpose otherwise.
It's not that they are unwilling to treat these sort of issues as a bug because there are similar issues that are accepted for investigation.
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

As I was looking to get a comparison screenshot from a cutscene I noticed it's not just the shifting of the blade.
I know this might've not been the best, seeing how everything has a brown tint.
But this was sorta the only one I knew where the cutscene was from.
But opening the pictures on a new tab makes it clearer.

this is kinda bad lol. feel free to use my pictures too if you decide to remake the bug report

I did as others had stated and made a new report using the propper template and more information and that one's in the "Accepted Bugs" now.
I guess that I thought a simple comparison picture and pointing out the errors would've been enough.
So it was my wrong to think so.
Anyway, now it's just a waiting game to see what'll happen next.
