in pvp queues usually less than 5 minutes is what it says when you're the only person queued for it, weirdly enough.
Primal has always been the least popular Data Center for pvp. I heard people have been getting games at around 9PM EST->4AM EST. However this is Crystal Rank, Lower tiers may pop less often.
There are a few Primal streamers that tend to stream CC every night, if you catch them online and in games it might be a good sign that the que is active at that time.
Oh boy, now that it has a demotion feature. Just say goodbye to rank matches participation to hit a huge decline once reach crystal. You’ll see a massive uptick in casuals. No one like that feeling of losing and demoting when you have no control with 4 random ppl.
Or even Diamond in the matter. Screw that. It’ll take the blame if it’s 1v1 you know, but 5v5? Nah, I’m good…
I can definitely confirm that. I'm nearing platinum on that data center. However, my window of playtime is a lot shorter than those that regularly play at the higher ranks. I currently have a 3 hour window to play, and it's only getting shorter with each passing week. Even if I do get promoted there's this uncertainty that I may end up freezing in place should the lower ranks stop getting games altogether.
Yeah, I'm whatever is right below Crystal, and it'd be lovely to get back up to Crystal but I've been trying for the past two weeks, and have had ONE match total. It's such a shame honestly, but XIV was never super popular for PvP as far as I understand.
Yaaa crystal rank is going to get hit pretty hard. While I agree its kinda easy to reach crystal and de-ranking should be a thing, I also agree that crystal rank queue times are probably going to jump up quite a bit.
That’s if you can keep crystal rank. ……..I can see a small amount off stay up credit rank…IF the rewards justify it. Majority…..they’ll just hit up between platinum or crystal and quit. Already ppl don’t like losing constantly, relying on 4 other ppl. With the demotion feature. It’s “feels” good early on. Wait until constant promotions to demotions….
This demotion feature is great. If you fall down from Crystal and can't manage to climb back up, did you really deserve to be there ? And if you quit because you're frustrated that you keep de-ranking, were you really made for the Top 100 grind ?
Who knows, maybe I'll go from Crystal to Platinum one day, if that happens I'll adjust, learn some strategies, play new jobs, try to diff a weak player. That's how it should be in ranked PVP.
As long as lower rank queues keep popping and give you a chance to climb back up. I'm curious what this "dynamic matchmaking" will look like in practice, maybe it will fix the issue of low rank queues dying.
That's the problem. Yes, it sounds good in your mind, it sounds good on paper, but there's so many factors that have to be applied in the long term that has to make sense. The more I think about it, you not going to have.........the matchmaking is going to decline going platinum on up after a week or 2. That's what I'm predicting once the patch launches. I'm saying it right now. No one likes constant promotions and demotions. It's not because they suck at it, it's because it's hard to gamble with 4 other players that you can't truly communicate with. That's going to be the biggest hurdle. This feature will make or break CC.This demotion feature is great.
