Sometime in December of 2010 the development team saw a reshuffle and Tanaka left the project and it was given to Yoshi. To the best of my knowledge Yoshi was a small name guy that had worked on a few Dragon Quest games and was chosen to take Tanaka's spot as producer/director because of the success of these games and the fact he is a avid mmo player but I never heard what mmos he played.

Yoshi had never worked on any mmos to my knowledge and was given a sinking ship and told make it float. The best example I can come up with how difficult this was is an electrician tossed into an ER room and told to perform heart surgery.

As if by the work of something higher Yoshi managed to keep that ship from sinking and was even able to rebuild it. Yoshi is doing something SE has never done before and that is have an open relationship with the public.

I do think there is a chance some things that were planned for 2.0 get pushed back to a later time but I cannot blame Yoshi if this happens because he has been very open to us and acknowledges what we want and dont like. In all honesty if 2.0 flops all I can say is the guy gave it a hell of a try.

So I'll say it again new engine, new UI, and new maps anything else would be nice.
