I'm going to say this plainly.

A lot of people are going to be disapointed with 2.0. Period.

    Why? Inflated expectations.

What Yoshi P and the crew are doing is monumental, but most of it is backroom reworking. Those who are wise and took the time to read the outline and not expect much more than that, will be happy when the patch comes.

Those who think 2.0 will be FFXIV's saving grace and will turn water in to wine? As well as those think that SE 'better' deliver or else they'll crash and burn? They'll be the ones complaining the loudest on these and other boards on how 2.0 "failed' and how they'll never trust SE again.

This divide among the player base WILL happen, because people are hyping themselves (either positively and will be let down, or negatively and will spot every flaw and absence) - which is the exact opposite to do in these circumstances.

If anyone out there can listen to outside advice, listen to this: Stay neutral. Look at the outline and expect that. Take what comes with a grain of salt and look at what you like before you harp about what you dislike. Make your judgements on what you enjoy in the game, as a whole, before you decide to give a positive or negative outlook. And no matter what you decide, be open minded. Not everyone is going to agree with you, and that's just fine.

Thank you for that brief glimpse into your crystal ball.

FINAL FANTASY XIV 2.0 will still be FINAL FANTASY XIV.

I think its safe to say that if you dont dig the battle system now, that isn't going to magically change in 2.0. we can trust that all of the dungeons, primal battles and strongholds are going to be in 2.0. These types of contents and their design should be an indicator for what to expect in 2.0.

So far FFXIV 2.0 isn't promising anything all that unique to the genre. The neat (unique) ideas are already in the game (armory, materia grinding, weapon skill combos, subligars, etc) and if you don't already find those to be at least interesting, then that isn't going to change with a new client.

For outsiders and naysayers of FF online games, 2.0 should be promising very simple things: top of the line art production, mechanical polish, and an interesting storyline. The design and flow of content and quest may drastically change, but the core mechanics that we have now will most likely be intact.

I cant wait to fiend on that PvP. >

Only read the OP, so I apologize if this notion has already been presented:

2.0 isn't promising too much. Some players are just expecting too much.

I must agree.... today i look back about "Eorzea ― The Making of a Realm #1" until #6.... here's the link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxBol-NJFuA

Some sketch they showed to us is a bit different in game except equipment, monster, detailing. So, i don't expect too much for 2.0 for this year.. maybe 1 or 2 years again XIV will be better. Oh yea, i've said it (and this is my assumption) before on the other thread, at this moment they don't have enough people to work on XIV's content and world. *cheers*

We’ll soon be releasing screenshots and videos showcasing the new graphics engine, which will be optimized to support both high- and low-end PCs. I trust you won’t be disappointed with that, nor the PS3 version.

dont forget that not all features will be at 2.0, lots of them will come in patchs after that.

First i want a new stable client and server. Not a client full of things and bugged like a nest.

Haha yeah all old squaresoft games were on nes and snes! As for 2.0 I am just expecting all the "coming in 2.0"

No more lag and a new client.

    My 2 Cents...

Patches alone are heading in the right direction. Dev's listening to majority of playerbase.

New content is really great with only 1/3 to 1/2 the team working on it.

Post 2.0 - Full team working on the game. Content developed faster. Fun Fun Fun.

If 2.0 is even half as good as the game is now compared to release day, then I'll be happy.
