ffxiv launcher "script error" and older fixes not working

so i tried to log on earlier this evening for raid and was unable to. The launcher isntead greets me with 2 pop ups of "error code 0" with Line 1 and Character 1 marked as invalid, and thus it cant run any kind of scripts. Based on older fix suggestions involving internet explorer, I'm assuming this is how the launcher got the proper updating info, but even a fresh reinstall of the launcher AND clearing all of my cookies on both Microsoft Edge (as IE was discontinued, which older posts said fixed it) and Chrome, my default browser.

Any suggestions for help? I can't even reinstall the game now because of the script errors so reinstalling the launcher didnt seem to do anything. tried running in administrator and compatibility modes as well.


update: Found a solution but cannot talk about it on the forum, sorry to anyone who finds this in the future
