    Electric Guitar...is it me or is the sound really grating?

    I love performance. I like to listen to others play and I'll play myself on occasion...

    but man any time someone is like "Yeah I'm just gonna use this Electric Guitar"...I have to get out of earshot or kill being able to hear performance at all.

    Am I alone on this?

    the soundfont is terrible by itself, there are TONS of FREE to use soundfonts out there, but they just dont care to change it anymore....

    It's absolutely awful. Performance has been turned off since it was introduced.

    Yeah, I'm with ya there. I like Performance with a lot of instruments, but the electric guitar is really bad sounding.. and ironically it's the one people use the most.

    lol, I opened this up earlier and closed it as I had nothing nice to say. :X I really dislike all of the performance sounds and keep it turned off permanently.

    honestly all the instruments sound pretty... bad. i don't see why people enjoy the concerts.

    I keep performance off. If I see rainbow crotchets and quavers flying out of someone and I happen to be feeling curious enough I might

    to listen for a sec but I toggle them back off after.

    The guitar's got a horrendously cheap tone to it. It's like somebody plugged a £40 guitar into a £20 amp, turned gain and overdrive to max, turned the low end down and cranked the mid and the high end lol. Plus playing on a bridge pickup. It's so bad but I will say though that of all the virtual instruments I've ever had to mess around with, overdrive electric guitar I'd probably the hardest to replicate and have sound good. Not exactly sure why, but even within DAW/VSTs it's really hard to get them to sound good.
