Monitor turns off then back on whenever I launch the game or tab out

Whenever I launch FF14 my monitor turns off, going black for about 5secs before showing HDMI in the top left and showing the game. It also happens when I alt-tab and try open up another application in front of the game.

It only happens when I am in fullscreen. I used to play borderless window but all of a sudden the game would play like a powerpoint, freeze framing every 5 seconds for 10 - 15 seconds. Friends would say I was running around fine on their end, but on my end my whole monitor was frozen.



If I tried to even open Task Manager to close FF14 my whole PC would slow down immensely, in both fullscreen mode AND borderless window.



I have done nothing different since these issues started happening. I keep on top of heat management with a surplus of fans both internal & external. I have steady internet, and 2060Ti graphics card. All my graphic drivers are up to date, and I've tried swapping HDMI cables.



I am going out of my mind trying to fix this. Any advice is seriously appreciated.

You need to try one more thing. Swap out the monitor for another one. The problem you are experiencing may be monitor related but you will never know for sure unless you try another monitor.
