    Why is the respawn timer so inaccurate?

    So out of sheer frustration I timed how long it takes you to actually rez, instead of the respawn timer on screen.

    By the time you actually see it pop up after the death animation finishes (you know, time when you are actually already dead and cannot do anything) its already been 4 seconds. By the time the animation is done for resurrecting its another 5 or so(more time when you are for all intents and purposes dead and cannot do anything).

    In such a fast paced mode like CC why are we spending so much time waiting to be ressed, or why can't they have the timer start when our health reaches zero, and end when we can actually control our character again? Is this just developer ego? They don't want us to miss their oh so special animations that after a while we have seen literally hundreds of times already?

    You forgot to mention the loading screen that takes around 4-5 seconds... before even the revive animations in the spawn fountain..

    When they reduce the animation's then they would simply increase the timer to archive the same death time.

    That's literally what I'm asking for. Start the timer the second health reaches zero and have it be accurate. Nevermind the dog netcode that means you can hit a healing ability like chaotic cyclone, die, and then it does its damage but you didn't get the healing in time.

    OP is right, respawn timer is a lie. It says 15s but if you actually count the period before it starts ticking, the black loading screen, the respawn animation, it's WAAAY longer than 15. What it means, is if you die twice, the match will probably be over by the time you can respawn lmao

    IMO it should just be a static time, for the whole match, not increasing on each death. Especially in a mode like CC where skill means bugger all.

    Curisu is right.

    The time between true death and when the timer window appears is accounted for.

    The time between when the timer window disappears and when you're allowed to move is accounted for.

    Cutting these times would make respawning twice as fast. People whine enough about how long Overtime can be and how annoying it is to have enemies run in and guard on the crystal. Things would be much worse.

    If you're simply advocating for a true timer though then that's fine.

    The respawning design in general is just an absolute mess in CC. They didn't really think it through at all.

    I rather it put me into the respawn zone about 3 sec immediately after my KO, and keep me in there for the remainder of the time. Surely they can find the technology.

    This measure would probably mean setting respawn time to base 15 or something, since we would be getting back too fast relative to TTK.
