Wanted: Tomestone and nuts item refunds

In WoW, similar token purchases can be refunded for the full price for one hour, as long as they weren't equipped and soulbound. I just made a tomestone item purchase, then discovered I already had the augmented version in my armory chest, so I just wasted 495 Astronomy tomestones.

I guess the issue here is that there's no soulbinding concept to let the system know you've equipped the item. Without that, people could buy gear, use it for an hour, then refund it and then buy another piece for a different job with the same tomestones.

The item is soulbound to you if you glam it or use it in battle.
The issue isn't that. There's just no refunds because the game kind of expects you to double check when it comes to that stuff. You *could* see if your once-in-a-lifetime, once-per-account item restore could apply to this, but is it really worth it?

When dealing with this gear, I like to buy up the full left or right side before I start playing around with augments. You could do that or keep a checklist to avoid this problem.

The other way to avoid the problem is to have the same job equipped when you go to buy a new piece so you can do an item comparison to make certain you're buying an upgrade.

/isearch the non-augmented version (currently /isearch radiant) and all augmented versions that you own should come up too.

This is unlikely to happen unless you have taken a break and don't have all of it equipped.

Put this on the list of fundamental quality of life changes to core/old systems that will always take a backseat in dev priority to new content and systems. Next to glamor dresser, hrothgar/viera hats, and furnishing.

In a similar vain, what's with their token/currency vendor design making it as complex as possible to get what you want? As a simplified example if X costs A and B, and B always costs C, then just make X cost A and C.

This would be a nice-to-have QoL change, but I honestly don't see it as that much of an issue because tomestones and nuts are so easy to come by.

QoL changes like this seem to amount "Hold my hand and don't let me fall. Put padding on the ground in case I do" The problem was solved in a couple of posts. All it requires is a little thought and organization.

There are frankly more important changes that need to happen like improving accessibility within the UI for those that need it.

Before you buy something you can type in /isearch "item partial name" and it will show to you the full list of items that contain that name in your posession. Then you right click them and click search and you will see where they are.

ALWAYS do this before purchasing something.

Besides, if you made a mistake you can always do either of the following:
1. you can desynth most of the tome gear (except the newest one, but with time you can do that too) and the drops from desynth usually sell nice
2. you can sell your itmes for seals when they get old.
3. Give the gear to your retainer they will eventually bring you better things from their venture if you level their gear.

Even then, it's a 50/50 chance they will give it to you. I got kicked out of my in game house due to being unable to log in due to RL issues and when I asked for an item back that I lost in the demolition and reclaimer they more or less told me to get bent and then would just send me a copypaste reply when I tried to escalate it so YMMV.
