    Holy Animation - Blinding

    So, I had boosted a White Mage and I found that casting Holy 1 is like a flash bang in my face.

    I am still sort of new to the community but what I ended up doing was creating a macro that turned off self player effects, cast holy then turned self player effects back on. There is a 1 second screen shake after the cast goes through.

    Anyways, it helped me a bit. If anyone wants to try it out, here it is.

    /battleeffect self simple
    /ac "Holy"
    <wait.3>
    /battleeffect self on

    Because macroed actions don't queue, you will lose up to 20% of your AoE damage by using this macro because the macroed action is locked out until after the GCD has finished. If you're casting Holy, in most likelihood you will be casting it many times. Rather than macro Holy and accumulate a loss of GCD time, you should just have a universal toggle for your bfx that you press before you go into raw Holy button spam. Simply:

    /bfx self

    This will give you a quick way to turn off the Holy visuals without losing any dps. Press again after you're done spamming Holy to turn your visual effects back on.

    Limit breaks do not count as self, party, or other. They are always visible:

    For SMN, your own effects can be toggled with

    /bfx self

    as above, but other people's effects are a little more complicated. I play with party member effects set to simple/limited, and I think a lot of other people do too. However, the /bfx command as a toggle only does all<->none. If that's what you need,

    /bfx party

    will do it in a single button. But you can't do a party effects simple<->all toggle unless you use two macros and tie up two whole hotbars for a swap. This overcomplication is a bit steep a price, at least in my opinion, and the better option is just to have two buttons. One for

    /bfx party simple

    and another for

    /bfx party none
