    Raid gear suggestion

This is a very long post so be warned.

I love Savage raiding so far, but I hate how the gear system is. To me it's counter-intuitive to how the rest of the game works. In that normally you are highly encouraged to play all the classes, or at least more than one. You are also highly encouraged to play/replay content with people outside of your group of friends. But Savage raiding as of now highly discourages you from doing either of those. You're pretty much forced to play one job/role, and on top of that either only with your static or pf. In fact, unless you have an alt or find a group who doesn't care, you're pretty much forced to raid only once a week. After talking to my brother we came up with 2 solutions. One would shack things up slightly but shouldn't cost SE much to do. The other would be a dream change but possibly very costly.

    Cost effective change
Right now it takes about 7-8 weeks to get BiS. They could keep it this way but make it simpler by:
1.Make the entire upgraded tomestone set (including the weapon) BiS.
2.Change the price of normal tomestone head, arms, and feet to 300, body and legs to 600, and accessories to 150. The entire set will now cost 3,200 which will take a little over 7 weeks to get.
3.Change how to obtain the upgrade items a bit (Radiant twine, roborant, coating). One of each upgrade item will be rewarded a week on completion. The accessory upgrade item on completing raid two. The armor upgrade item on completing raid three. The weapon upgrade item on completing raid four.
4.Don't allow upgrade items to be purchasable until 7-8 weeks after the Savage content is launched. When they are purchasable, keep most of the prices the same. Make the weapon upgrade item require 2 books from the 4th raid.
5.Change the cost for the upgraded tomestone gear a bit. Keep the cost for the accessories the same. Change the cost for the armor and legs to require 2 upgrade items instead of 1. Lastly make the weapons require 7 upgrade items instead of 1.
6.Decrease the cost of the raid gear by 2 books. So accessories will be 2 books. Head, arms, and feet will be 4 books. Chest, legs, and weapon will be 6 books.
7.Don’t have any restrictions on the raid loot. Since none will be BiS, except for technically the ring, it doesn't matter if they're farmable. This will allow players to play each raid more than once a week and allow them to gear up multiple jobs if they so chose. All without punishing their static or those outside of their static.
With these few tweaks, it would still require at least 7 weeks to get BiS on your first job (less on the rest), while not going against how the majority of the game encourages you to play it. The last suggestion I would add for this is to maybe remove the tomestone cap a week or two before the ultimate is released. But if this wasn't done I think it would be fine.

    Dream change
On top of all the changes suggested above, make cool unique “relic” armor sets for the raid tier (purely cosmetic). The cheapest way for this dream change would be to make those armor sets role specific. The (more expensive) true dream change would be to make them job specific. Either way it would be amazing, especially if the armor sets matched/complimented one of the ultimate or relic weapons.
In order to obtain this set, it could be a part of a quest line that requires a certain amount of completions per role/job per week (requiring at least 6-8 weeks to get the set initially, a bit less as the content gets older). Not only would this be badass, but it would help to keep old Savage content relevant because who doesn\\\\\\'t like cool cosmetics?

Just because flexibility is allowed, it doesn't mean it's highly encouraged to play more than one. If there's any reference to what you're talking about in-game, I'd like to see it.

The options are there, but some people will never touch a crafter or gatherer or Tank/Heal/DPS. I think the expectation is that you'll find something you really like to play and prioritize that. That's the more standard approach. You're welcome to do the other stuff without the hassle of a job being tied to a character, as it is elsewhere.

The raids should get unlocked after two weeks and the tomestone limit should be removed after a month. It's pointless to have limits like this when the raid tier dies in two days IMO.

In what world does the raid tier die in two days?

Most groups don't clear for months....

My opinion may annoy some people but as a serious gamer I have to say that I have always considered ff14 as a mmorpg for casuals I play mostly to relax since I have done all the so called hardcore content

so in my eyes you are free to choose what you want because it's not really important, in a real mmorpg on the other hand...

Halfway through the tier they should unlock Savage and half the price of current tome gear. At this point you're at least 2 months in and either playing catch up or want to try some alt jobs for variety and do fun runs with friends.

Taking a while to gear a main is fine, dragging out the content and all that, but it's a little depressing when you then consider rolling a few alt jobs for fun and realize it'll take you a further 7-8 weeks each before you get to play them at BiS. The tier is practically over by the time you're done.
