Letter of appreciation

Hi everyone,
I am posting this here because I do not know where else to do this. I wanted to get out a letter of appreciation to Yoshida Naoki, Soken Masayoshi, and the whole FFXIV development team.

I want them to know how much this game means to me. I have been playing since 2014 and this is the second mmo I ever played and the only one I stayed with for more than a few months. I log on nearly every day too. See, over the past few years I have become very disabled which has resulted in me being home bound for the most part. While I can leave for short amount of time, I had to give up my dream of travel. Also, aside from my wife I do not have family and very few irl friends.

This game, especially in recent years, has given me so much. I can immerse myself in the world and it makes me feel like I am no longer home bound. I am very shy and awkward (I have autism) but I have been able to meet great people in game. It has helped with those feelings of isolation. My wife has been watching the story of FFXIV unfold as I have played over the years. She wants to join once we have the means (right now I am on a ps4 only, we hope to get a pc for her someday but it is hard being disabled, we both are). We are both looking forward to when we get that second way of playing so we can be on together. Then we really can immerse ourselves as doing things together that we could never do.

I hope this reaches the development team so they can know how much all their hard work means to me. Without FFXIV I would me much more depressed than I already am. This game has helped me in more ways than I can say. I can have the illusion of living this fantastic life, free and out in an amazing world, and hopefully with my wife instead of being trapped in a body that won’t let me go anywhere.

Thank you for everything you do, I can’t express in words how grateful I am for Final Fantasy XIV.

I really wish the best vibes and happenings to you and your wife! I hope she gets her PC soon and you two enjoy the game playing together.

This game is full of cool histories like yours and it's exciting to hear about them! We have a great community here with amazing people and that's enough to keep coming back to Eorzea

I agree I love this game. I play it way to much. Been playing it since 2.0 Beta and it never gets old. I have a friend who pushed me to try and play this game and although we have since parted ways I thank him immensely for getting me to play.

That's awesome you have a nice outlet! Good choice . Also good we remind the devs we like the game and are not here for piñata time lol.

A personal aside from a time long ago is just to make sure the outlet doesn't subsume your ability to fix issues outside of it (like still use it to find peace, just don't forget to solve outside issues too lol).

I'm sure the devs would be proud to hear their work brings light
