TL;DR- Gearing in FFXIV does not progress over a tier's life cycle, making gearing alt jobs really tedious when all you want to do is enjoy other jobs in current content as they were intended

I enjoy playing every job in the game. These thoughts are coming from someone who gets and makes use of BiS gear on every job, in every patch.

Suggestions:
(1) Raise the tomestone cap a little bit every week, not just at the end of a patch
(2) Increase the number of books dropped from each fight around once a month (so by the 4th month of a patch, you are getting 4 books from a fight), up to ~8 books
(3) Drop more tomestones from raid, clearing savage shouldn't also require 4 days of expert roulette to cap tomestones (1.5-2.5 hrs of expert roulette chore work every week, chores are bad)

The gearing process for FFXIV is something of a relic for how the game is intended to be played. People talk about how alt friendly the game is, but playing alts in full patch gear (the best way to experience the intended design) is extremely limited by how gear acquisition works.

Taking 8 weeks to fully gear a group for the first time is a little slow (but reasonable), but being limited to 450 tomestones per week and 3 chest/weapon items per player each 8 weeks after that is way too slow. Especially when that doesn't change all the way until the X.X8 patch before the next raid tier.

There are 7 left sides of gear and 5 right sides of gear to get if you want to play all the jobs, in addition to 19 weapons. Capping on tomestones and clearing the raids every week, it takes 6 months to gear everything and that's only if you get some of the bonus weapon drops from the 4th fight. That means that in the course of one raid's life cycle, you can't actually enjoy playing any alt of your choice for more than 1 month before the next raids come out. That feels very limiting.

The dev team and a lot of newer players laud the alt friendliness of this game, so please extend that to gearing as well.
