Flickering pixels & full screen flashing

Can see it more clearly in the brume but it happens everywhere.
Reboot usually fixes the black flashing but it didn't this time.
I was playing fine yesterday, no issues. Today, I did my genshin dailies, logged into xiv and it was flickering on the menu screen so I rebooted, and it was still like this. Only XIV reacts like this. There's 2 artifacts going on: full screen black flashing (accompanied by the occasional black box flashing), and then red/white/blue artifacts about 1/2cm to the left of my lala that seem to pop up in grey / dark areas.


I know my drivers are outdated. This is a result of having upgraded to the latest drivers and encountering this issue ~6mo ago, then sequentially downgrading them until something worked, which was these, which were relatively stable until now. Idk why they'd suddenly not work and why it's only ever XIV that breaks like this when my other games are fine.

tentatively fixed it - idk for how long - by dduing the drivers in safe mode and upging to 516.59 + cold booting.
friends + google seem mixed on if its a hardware issue or not

I had this issue years back. It turned out my video card was dying and the flickering stopped once I got a new video card.

edit: The issue also only appeared in FFXIV, for a time, then the whole system went to shit.

yah was worried it was hardware based, orz
maybe it'll last until the rtx 40xxs are out

yeah nvm can close this it's hardware
hard crashed the whole pc w a pixellated screen

I bought a new gfx card and reinstalled the same drivers & the problem's fixed
