People need to watch guides for dungeons now? What? Can people just not do a run on anything blind? Yeah if a farm group...know your stuff but anything else...why get a guide?

Ok...let me give some simple mentor advice:

    1. When in doubt...follow the group. If you see everyone run to a specific area like they are a herd of deer who just got spooked...you need to follow them.

    2. It is TOTALLY OK to be hit with a mechanic from time to time. The game is VERY good at showing you a new mechanic. They usually do it once and if you goof it then it's fine. You take a bit of damage and you carry on. When they do that mechanic again later on...NOW it usually carries a penalty like a debuff or whatever. It's telling you "Hey! I had the kids gloves on the first time...you need to watch for this." Every. Single. New mechanic is done like this. Any time a newish mechanic is done that starts off with a bang it's probably because it's a variant of a mechanic you've seen done a hundred times before but it had a slight twist. Example...a stack mechanic that hits multiple times rather than once.

    3. Mistakes are ok. Just learn from them. It only gets aggravating when you refuse to learn.

When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.

Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.

I just expect people to know what they're doing past a certain point. Folks running off with stack markers past 50 is really, REALLY annoying.
Let them run with the marker then, it just kills them, it won't wipe the group

To me that's the biggest thing. People are so quick to attack people when they fail its only going to succeed in making scared to do anything let alone simple content. I think for me personally this game is terrifying when you have to do something new and it shouldn't be. I've just been on the other end of that kind of toxicity for years. Sure now they can't outright say anything to you, but they can still kick you. They can still not heal you and let you die. Just because someone isn't openly toxic it doesn't mean they aren't. I don't know to me it's player expectations vs the reality of random.

it would take 10 seconds to tell someone they need to stack with a stack marker. I remember wiping in similar fashion a week or so ago because person stacked on us when we were supposed to spread, we told him, we tried the boss again and it died. its that simple. matter of 2-3 minutes

Until you get multi hit stacks like Nidhogg, tsuko or mommy, where they get one shotted followed by the spreaded out party being hitted one after another and maybe dying in the chaos...

I don't like being the person that screws up and wipes us. Wish more people would think like that.
I don't watch guides on my first attempt. Period. If you want to enforce your own rules make a PF group.

It is annoying though, when the rest of the group is going to stack up, the marked player starts running circles on the outside. Doesn't wipe the party, is hardly game breaking but yes it's annoying.

We had this attack come out once and everyone stacked behind the boss as usual, but then the person with the marker ran away. No one moved, healer used rescue to pull them back, they ran away again, no one moved, they took it too the face and went down after the first hit, the rest of us go through it just fine. We explained what happened, they did it a second time and we repeated what happened before. It was hilarious.

Some ppl just really do not or will not learn

This feels a lot like when healers were defending their right to use rescue on anyone they wanted. People are new, they make mistakes, just let them. Trying to pre-empt every single mistake someone could possibly make before it happens just makes you look like a weird control freak who tries to dictate how everyone else plays. You can't sit there and babysit every player to make sure they never fail a mechanic ever as they go through the story, just let them get hit and die once or twice.
It's just as annoying, if not more, to have someone being a control freak in your party and trying to tell everyone how they should play. I agree with the other poster above, if you want these arbitrary rules then make a party to do content, don't expect everyone in duty finder to play by your specific rules.

Um, working as a team means helping each other, idk, not die in encounters, which is why we have abilities like rescue, shields and heals lol. But I mean, we could delete all 3 of those so other players have absolutely no control over what you do or how you do it ever. I also have raise, but you know, I wouldn't want to do something as controlling as force you to get up off the ground and hit a few buttons so maybe I should take that off my hotbar too. I don't want to be controlling...

Thank the Twelve we don't have an actual support class in this game, or else you would find yourself reported for using buffs.
