Yeah all this new content that easily dwarves post-ShB patches definitely shows that yoshi-p just absolutely detests the playerbase. Oh the constant updates and communication, that other MMOs would dream to be as consistent? Yeah lets just ignore all of that.

Why including a card game when people can just go play Yugi-Oh? Why include jumping puzzle when people can go play a platformer? Why include performance when people can just go play real music? Why include housing at all if The Sims already exist?

Except that whole new Ishgardian Ward we just got or the 5 new plates we got recently for the dresser (from 15 to 20), I know, details details ... don't let facts interfere with your raging.

Sounds like everything to do with this upcoming feature is entirely self-contained, having nothing at all tying it to the main game. From what I've read about the features, it sounds awfully time-consuming for stuff you can only see/do/use on the island itself.

Edit: Another thought I just had...the existence of island sanctuary with the described features completely obliterates every single argument against the existence of instanced housing.

They should use it for instanced house. Would be a really cool transition between housing systems.
If they are smart as they sell us they are, someone could even say that they are doing this thinking in a future transition...

Honestly, it feels like there were systems being built up for instanced housing over the years, but after all this time housing still breaks when implemented, so they used the new systems on something with a a more limited scope, using the features that won't brick the servers, as a way to use the work already done.

Like, Endwalker is pretty bare so far as it is, so if all effort outside the bare minimum for content (raids, trials and story dungeons only) went into housing so that we could have instanced housing for 7.0, I'd say screw housing and give me islands and criterion and what not. But I'm not going to assume that's what everyone wants.

Being the guy who chooses what gets worked on in an MMO under time pressure must be a nightmare.
