    Why no cross-data-center pvp?

I would like to play more pvp matches, but because I am a night owl, I am stuck without anyone to play with/against. If I could move my character to to a European or Asian server, I could play without a 3 hour wait time. The specific restriction against PvP seems weird to me when you shift data centers.

There's no PVP specific restriction on cross-region travel. No one can travel cross region for any purpose.

I'm talking about data centers, sorry. I'm being very bad about describing the problem for me. I use the NA data centers, and during the hours I play, it's extremely hard to find pvp matches (or ques for anything else, but I can log in to another data center for pve). So I would like the ability to log in to another data center to make it so my pvp que timer is less than 180 minutes.

Maybe your hours don't line up. Late afternoon EST is when things usually pick up.

You are right, my hours don't line up. I am at work during late afternoon EST. Your description of the situation is in line with mine, but you are offering no prescription. My prescription is that cross-data-center pvp be allowed.

Wouldn't the situation be the same on other data centers in NA if it's the same region anyways? If PvP queued all data centers in a single pool maybe the issue could be resolved, but as they're all separate at the moment you'd have to have people be awake when you are, or you go to a different region Data Center entirely where the timezones are active when NA is quite inactive.

Sometimes if you're not on during active hours, it's just something you have to deal with.

I wonder if lower player Frontlines could make queue pops all night. On Aether for instance, queues typically die a little after midnight PST, usually later in the weekends and especially if it's Onsal. Maybe there's not enough people past that for 72-man but maybe 24 could keep it going ?

For Crystalline Conflict games can go pretty late (maybe 2-3 am), but it's called degen hours for a reason....

As they only just opened up travel between DCs, I don't see them allowing for something like that to happen.

There are some pvp discords out there. One might be able to help you find a DC that works better with your schedule. I see you're on Aether. You might try hopping over to Primal. I'm sure things will pick up during the Moogle event.

That would do wonders for my endgame static if I were to switch DCs. But in all seriousness, why can't I just pvp with people from other data centers?

You can either travel within your region or make another character in a region more friendly to your time zone.
The infrastructure is not set up for cross-data-center instances.

And it's very unlikely it ever will be, respecially since what you are asking would mean that the matching server and instance servers would need to handle the population of seventy seven worlds instead of their cozy set of eight. And as the occasional issue reports show, if the instance server or matching server croaks, the whole logical data center is sol.
