Yeah, this entire argument doesn't come across as someone who is trying to establish common ground or provide evidence of their claim, but instead, establish enough room for "plausible deniability" that they can pretty much claim anything because "it can happen, therefore it did happen in every case I say it did".

People need to back the f up and let streamers think what they want to think. Xepla has said something about not liking how some parts of EW were handled and she was forced to walk it back due to backlash. [I was there during that stream]. I was also there during the stream where Rich was threatened and shut down by his audience because he said he was TeamRejoin. It happens, and it's BS. Shut the F up and let streamers feel how they want to feel and express it with no backlash. In other words, stfu.

Except that Rich laughed and walked that incident off, and kept playing through to form his own opinion. Hell, he later argued that chat was right, but stood by his initial opinion. Besides that, Rich insulted his chat first, calling them "tempered f--ks" when they defended Venat during her first appearance in END. You can't complain about needing to please the "lunatics" that pay your bills when you have that sort of "toxic friends" relationship with them.

However....here's the problem: I agreed with Rich's initial opinion and don't agree with his second one after Elpis. I am in that minority of people who thought that Endwalker's story was bad (or, at least, the overall theme of it was -- I still hold that some parts of it were very good). I actually had one of my friends give me a disgusted look when I told him I didn't like it, and explained why. So yeah, I can confirm that those people, and situations, definitely exist.

But none of that proves Aveyond's premise for this thread: that it would benefit the story to replace the Scions with Ardbert's team or whatever. Because you can both dislike Endwalker's plot and either like or be indifferent to the Scions, which is the entire basis of this thread. The existence of people who get defensive when someone doesn't agree with them on the plot does not thus prove the existence of a huge fanbase that would prefer the story if the Scions were gone, or most of Aveyond's other claims.

If a steamers persona hinges on the very idea of whether a small number of extremely vocal people agree with them -- and not disagree then they either need to reconsider how they use their platform to express views or just grow a spine.

I'm sorry but if a steamer wholeheartedly feels the need to suppress themselves or their views because of this then they should probably steer clear of the internet in general. There's a certain point where this line of thinking -- That if someone disagrees with you then they are attacking you, or your point of view, then this just turns into an irrational victim complex.

I don't care much for streamers, though I've certainly heard all manner of horror stories. If someone such as myself is sent creepy comments on a frequent basis for liking the Ascians or Garleans I can't imagine what sort of bile someone much more famous receives by comparison.

Incidentally, I was reading 5ch and saw a comment from a JP player who said almost exactly what I did: "What is an adventurer when he works for an organization? I would think that you would be at best a mercenary, right?" Gods, I would love to be a mercenary. Please release me, let me go. For I don't love you (Scions) anymore.

We must be reading 2 entirely different versions of the Official Forums -- Because as far as I am aware this seems to be a mutual responsibility with the original poster themselves derailing the original topic with 1 of many baseless takes. Something that evidently seems to be an ongoing trend.

Yeah, this is silly, when I've taken it upon myself multiple times to try to rerail the thread after Aveyond HIMSELF derailed it by veering into "streamers get harassed, therefore something-something I'm right about the Scions needing to be replaced".

Like, you guys all came in here to try to bail him out to complain and make claims about streamers, when that still has NOTHING to do with his topic, and in no way validates the topic's claim.

I'm still waiting on the growing evidence that players who dislike the Scions are the majority. I even provided many examples of where that evidence could come from.

If you had said this when I started playing last year, I'm don't think I would have agreed. EW however, seems to have neutered the gravitas of pretty much every major character on the good guy team except the lalafels. SHB saw decent character development for just about all of them, and EW through it out the window. I loved the expansion, but I'm concerned for the characters' future.

We love the Garlemalding and the King Solus and the No Shadow Gods. The Final Fantasy will not let us pick the Garlemald but I am the Garlemald spy in the rp. It is hard to fight against the story and do opposite of all other player. You love Scion we hate Scion. You love Venar we hate Venar. You love Loprit we hate Loprit. You hate God King Varis we love God King Varis. You hate to live the Rala land we love to live the Rala land.

We want the Scion to be replace by the Garlemald and the Ascian and the traditional masculine Jack Garlemald from Stranger Knight. Is why the forum tread is need. You do not agree and we are the oppressed. So we make the daily tread to fix the mind like the pop up advertise do until all can see the right way.

But now realize is bad to make the comment about the content createmen behind the back when is they not here in tread to say the truth. Is better to let the createmen say what they is feeling is and not put the lie words into the mouth to speak for them.
