With that said, people in my FC keep saying I should just level one class, is that right? I’m asking because if I did that i would get my first class to max level while the MSQ is still far from finished, but then I won’t have other classes leveled up high enough to even continue the MSQ. I would have to do run dungeons endlessly just to level up my second/third classes to get them high enough level to meet the MSQ required level.

Please don’t reply with “Play it your way”, my way of playing is efficiently, I find efficiency fun and interesting. Playing without a plan in place makes me nervous and takes away the fun.
If you want efficient, you might want to consider finishing at least ARR, and unlock all possible roulettes plus the first tomestone vendor. You don't want all that potential xp and equipment to go to waste.
Back in ARR, I leveled every single class to 30 (which was the limit for free to play on those days) before actually subscribing.
Xp multipliers were less plentiful, that meant levequests, fates and hunts to supplement during longer queues.
