Back when relocation was a thing, people would spend money just to relocate and screw with people who were placard spamming. Sometimes, depending on the situation, they would do this several times in a row.
There aren't a lot of things to spend Gil on, and housing brings out the worst in this great community.

IRL ppl with lots of money, doing rmt, just to "troll/annoy" ppl, you got some individual that sadly find satisfaction in others ppls misery ...

Which is why this system is better. It doesn't totally eliminate it, but I do think it'll reduce the chance of these people success down to negligible amount.

It's only a temporary waste of gil, it's not like people have a reason to drop a bunch of gil like that regularly, so no real harm in dropping money in the lottery to potentially troll people who want a house. People can suck sometimes

True, I mean these days I bought everything from the MB and I'm an omni-crafter. But even so, spending gil to just piss people off seem to be poor taste.

Yes but towards the end before they stopped instant transfers it was a thing for sure on Balmung with people transferring in one day and out another. They did it to troll people clicking placards trying to get a house. I suspect that it happened on other servers as well. People like that were the cause (at least one of the major ones in my view) for the changes in the rules with respect to transfer.
