    An idea proposition

I don't know for you guys but even with the plot adjustment there is already no more place left sure it made some people happy and that's good but it won't solve anything and I know it's not Yoshi-P fault he really try his best. So I had an idea that crossed my mind and I KNOW its kind of "Impossible" but it would be to have adaptive residential area.

Let me explain, instead of have like 24 Ward and 60 plot per residential area to have ward that are adding progressively as the demand goes or more easy SUBVENTIONS that adapt itself. Example the 60 plot in the LB are taken but13 player want an house? make a 13 plot subvention. it could even work like an apartment list you choose the plot size you pay it and it act like a apartment room and tp you in a restrain place apart from the rest where there is just your house

Maybe some will say it would be too easy to get an house or that I am a crybaby to ask for that but that's not just me. I have some friends that have been trying to get an house for the last 6 years and it not based of your tries of your prestige but on luck is it normal that some people who play the game for 6 years still can get an house to rest and enjoy because of luck is it really what we want , there is more players coming on the game every week the game evolved but the problem is getting worse every week one way of an other we need to find a solution to propose solution

I leave this idea here if you have good ideas to had to this you can reply im not trying to create any hate but the opposite we are all here because we love FFXIV and I want to try my best to make the people on the game happy for my friends that can't find an house for years and for everyone else who had that same struggle

Do all people have to aggree on changes made to the house? What about the garden?

From the basic idea i have nothing against it. People will still want or at least prefer a personal house but a shared one is one of the better suggestions regarding housing i read here. Maybe even the best.

I would feel bad to share and squat a friend house I would feel like I don't belong that's my problem but yeah I guess its an option for some people if it work good for them

More wards is something SE would do if they found it easy, but it means running a new server program and the space and resource requirements that come with that.

Because "subventions" would work just like apartments, that idea is possible but you could argue it already exists because when you enter the house, there are rooms that multiple people can have a version of. The difference with your version is the rest of the interior of the house would have a separate version for each person. The problem is that only one person could own the garden.

In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

nah I mean like the list of plot that act like an apartment list instead of teleporting you right in it teleport you to an restrain area from the rest of the other plots and you have your garden and house for yourself like example you take that "plot" that is like an apartment list you take Residence 1 in the list and it Teleport you to a special section where there is your garden and everything away from the rest of the subvention and is you use the list again and go on Residence 2 it teleport you to that same area but with the house of the player that bought Residence 2

If I'm reading your idea properly, this is sort of how BDO did it except the external decorating was not a thing. Within towns, there were certain buildings one could purchase for Contribution Points (a unit separate from silver currency, that one could generally acquire with ease) as housing. However, this wasn't a first come first serve thing. You'd walk up to the building's doorway, press F, and then get an option to purchase an instanced version of that house. In this way, thousands and thousands of people owned an instanced interior of the same building within a city. Your home even had a decoration rating, determined by the amount of furniture and the types you had in your place, and the Top 10 homes could be visited by other players by selecting them from a list. You could also manually navigate to your friend's home on the list as well, if you had them added. Some very large home buildings became available as the game grew, and it simply cost more contribution points; but we never saw the kind of competition for them like we do in XIV, since everyone could have one if they wanted to.

The downside of this system was if you weren't a Top 10 or someone with a lot of friends, then you wouldn't get any random visitors at all really. And the whole system was probably done with the cash shop in mind, since it was BDO after all. It also wasn't quite as flexible on the decorating, since (iirc) there weren't partitions or things like that; the home was sort of already divided up like a real house would be in that regard, whereas XIV just gives you a big empty room to do whatever craziness you want. This was likely just a creative difference in opinion and not a limitation from the system itself. But the upside was, everyone who wanted a house could easily acquire one within hours of playing the game. Most players owned several homes. And these were actually nestled within the city, not in some hypothetical dream-ward scenario that nobody wanders around in. You could open your window and look right out into the town. In this regard it was quite well done. I hope someday we can take the best elements of other games and apply them into this one.

Woah thats so cool I like how they made it so everyone could get an house early if they wanted that's very cool I would like to see some aspect of that in FFXIV because I saved my gils for months try to reach 3~4 million gils just to get an house and now that I finally got the money well there is no place left but the fact that they made this so can get soon in BDO is actually very cool
