The best event idea that requires little effort

While I could keep my brilliant idea to myself I decide today to share it with you because I want to make the world of Eorzea evolve
In my deepest indulgence to the game team I can't help but notice the fervor they express in releasing events that are mostly recycled or worse like the mog event...

My idea would be easy to do and be one of the best experiences a player might have.

I propose an event in which the whole world is invaded by an army of monsters and demons with super powerful world bosses. This invasion would take place everywhere, especially the cities, it would be impossible to be transported by magic during this event and the death of the player would have harmful repercussions on the world by increasing the number of monsters.

The event will display the number of participating players and the number of living demons and monsters. The goal will be to kill all the demon monsters and world bosses.
If all the participants are dead or have not killed all the monsters before the end of the 2 week time limit it will be considered a failure.

This means that before the start of the event you will have to register as a participant to be in the game and basically you will have an assignment according to your allegiance, there will be a list of armies according to allegiance.

Each cleaned city will be free again and will have its etherite to activate.
No npc will be present however as the only exception it will be possible to travel by boat or plane.

It will be impossible to play the game normally during the event and all players will have to unite if they want a chance to survive and defeat the powerful monsters that will be super strong.

If all the monsters are dead it will trigger an Ultimate World Fate which will reveal a battle against the Shadow Lord.

It's really not that hard to do and it would be a very interesting event that would allow players to fight seriously and fear death for once

I'm 90% sure you won't use this idea because you'd rather rest on your laurels but if a miracle happens I'll allow you to use my idea even if it would be nice to put my character's name as a thank you for the idea

I forgot to mention that if a player is in a coma he stays there for 5 hours then he has to be resuscitated, it is impossible to come back except by being resuscitated by a healer

Yes it will be possible to participate with all his characters not just 1

Cool idea, but a lot of people would probably wind up hating it if they decided to do this. Not only would it take a lot of dev time to do this, disabling aetheryte access will definitely cause an uproar among the playerbase due to newer players needing to go through the MSQ to access quests and other duties. Not everyone would want to opt into an event like this, and forcing players to participate will just do more harm than it's worth. Plus, with more casual players who don't want their experience to be interrupted will be forced for their progress to be halted. It's just way too much hassle for a lot of unhappy players that the dev team wouldn't want to go for.

Would be fun though, but only if aetheryte access and MSQ progression/crafting aren't able to be interrupted as well as keeping it outside of the city states so they could be designated "safe areas". Perfectly fine if it's restricted to only areas outside of the city states. It would get people out in the open world again doing something aside from the occasional old relic weapon grind.

It's not on your character but the world each death will summon a new monster.

It's true my idea is especially interesting for max level players after all the new ones won't have any chance there will surely be a lot of unhappy players but it will only be for 2 weeks maximum the event will bring nice rewards and I'm sure that for the majority if ever an event of this kind came to happen it would leave no one indifferent and will leave a mark

The fact of not being able to use etherites would give an aura of despair to the players I'm convinced that allowing cities to be safe would ruin the war aspect imagine an army of players setting up military strategies to retake Uldh'a, make progress passify all of Thanalan, take back what was lost

So…the zombie plague event from WoW, essentially. While I am pretty firmly in the camp of “I love this, it’s fun” there were plenty of people who did absolutely hate it because it did disrupt cities and there really was no safe place. I don’t think this game is really the best fit for such an event, though.
