The best event idea that requires little effort

Of course, IF something like that happen and "It will be impossible to play the game normally during the event and all players will have to unite if they want a chance to survive and defeat the powerful monsters that will be super strong." that mean we got 2 free week of sub right ?

They kind of did this before they shut down the 1.0 servers. Monsters overran the cities. The aetherytes turned int Atomos. Answers played on echo as the background music.

Then the Calamity happened.

So…the zombie plague event from WoW, essentially. While I am pretty firmly in the camp of “I love this, it’s fun” there were plenty of people who did absolutely hate it because it did disrupt cities and there really was no safe place. I don’t think this game is really the best fit for such an event, though.

Yeah, put me down as one of the people who hated it. High-level players would get infected on purpose, run around killing and infecting people and just generally being disruptive because they thought it was funny. Made it nigh impossible to just.....play the game.

Different strokes. While I personally enjoyed the event, I can live without it, and I've matured enough that I don't think I'd find blowing up people in the auction house as funny as I did as a teenager. Though I can't help but think about what it would be like to blow up the Limsa aetheryte and watch the chaos... As I said though, I don't think this game is really the best fit for that kind of event, from a thematic standpoint, and I don't think the playerbase would appreciate it very much. My advice to OP is to get your fill of it when they do the zombie thing again for Wrath Classic, and come back to XIV after you've gotten it out of your system.
