If I had to pick just one single moment, it would be "the walk" in Ultima Thule with the full version of "Close in the Distance" playing in the background. Recognizing the various characters and the music itself were extraordinary.
If I can add some "runners up," I'd say things like:
-Elpis. Meeting old Emet-Selch, Hythlodaeus, and Venat brought a smile to my face the whole way through.
-The music. Pretty much always true, but standouts for me were the battle themes for the three trials (Zodiark, Hydaelyn, Endsinger). The way Soken managed to include snippets from every single expansion in the Endsinger fight was awesome. The perfect culmination for the series so far. Also a nod to the Radz-at-Han theme while you're still doing the MSQ, and the initial version of the Ultima Thule theme when you first arrive. That set the atmosphere so much.
-The callbacks to FFIV. It's my second-favorite game in the series, but hasn't had as many references to it as some of the others around it. Using the town and battle themes while you're in the loporrits home, the Moon piece itself, and what I at least immediately saw as a call back to the final fight of FFIV when the scions sent their spiritual energy to aid us.
I'm a man, and I have absolutely no idea what he means, either. Also strange that he seems to assume the gender of the player will necessarily match that of the character. What utter Nonsense.
Nah. Some people just enjoy seeing positivity reach the forums for a change, especially since you can go practically anywhere else and see almost exclusively positive things. I'd say the insecurity comes in having so many negative threads, but feeling so threatened by a couple positive ones that some people need to insert themselves there and try to sabotage them...I won't lie. It says a lot about someone (or multiple someones) who feel the need to counter every single negative thread with their own as a polar opposite. It reeks of insecurity.
