    Why are you surprised? It's not just going to be players without a house that bid. It's going to be the players who already own a small and want to upgrade to a medium as well.

    Even if we had enough total houses for every player to have a house, the mediums and larges will always have a large number of bids from relocators.

    Back when relocation was a thing, people would spend money just to relocate and screw with people who were placard spamming. Sometimes, depending on the situation, they would do this several times in a row.
    There aren't a lot of things to spend Gil on, and housing brings out the worst in this great community.

    Which is why this system is better. It doesn't totally eliminate it, but I do think it'll reduce the chance of these people success down to negligible amount.

    It's only a temporary waste of gil, it's not like people have a reason to drop a bunch of gil like that regularly, so no real harm in dropping money in the lottery to potentially troll people who want a house. People can suck sometimes
