After reading so many pages and a lot of bullshit...

I want to say that at first pointing the finger at a more or less questionable practice, and believing it to be the major problem for in protecting children, is a bit of a misnomer. You can make the game as pure as possible so that even 3 year olds can play it there will always be a way to get an unhealthy side.

You have to understand one thing, to all parents who seek to protect their children, you can protect them as much as you want, put the necessary protections or even cut off the internet, your children will do certain things that you would never know. You think you know everything about them, but you can never know enough about what they can do. What you mistake for a growing child is often smarter than you think. You were young, you probably did anything when you were young, you grew up and now you have children. You hope they don't do the same shit you do and yet they do. Why ?

There is no miracle solution to educate a child, but you should never take them for idiot. Do you want to remove a practice that is considered immoral for your parenting principles, but have you educated your children while explaining to them why such a thing should not be done? Have you explained to them why such a practice can be dangerous, even if it seems innocent on the surface?

The simple fact of saying "no" to a child without explaining "why" will only create frustration in the latter towards you and misunderstanding of this prohibition. By dint of wanting to put barriers to your children you will just see them jumping your barriers. You've made mistakes, let them make them too, but it's up to you to make them aware of the danger involved.


I'm not going to tell you that you educate your children badly, but realize one thing. You know the dangers while they don't, instead of trying to hide the dangers, please teach them to recognize the dangers while presenting them with the risks involved.
