Purge ERP from this game!

I don’t get it. I’ve read through some of the rebuttals, and I just don’t get it. Either some of you are trolling in response to what you already believe is a troll post, or you generally believe that ERP belongs in FFXIV.

No where in this entire thread have I said that ERP is inherently wrong. I have said that there is a place for it, and that place is not in a video game marketed to consumers of all ages.

Your behind closed doors argument, your let people do what makes them happy argument, and your don’t partake if you don’t like it arguments do nothing to refute what I am saying. You have two options because this topic really IS black and white:

1. You believe ERP and by definition cyber sex belongs in FFXIV

2. You believe that behavior belongs in other platforms more appropriate for their user base

Telling someone to grow up does nothing. I personally believe some of you are culprits which is why you react the way you do. I realize I’m essentially yelling at a brick wall, but hopefully one-day SE will take actual action against this. However, considering Japan produces some of the most perverted media known to the world in the form of anime, it’s unlikely.

If you actually wanted to protect the children (which I always have trouble believing people like you), you would advocate for parents and schools to have proper sex ed. +1. You "protect" children by educating them and preparing them. That's it. Any program with chat will be used for cybersex. If a child is engaging in ERP or cybersex, that's on the parents, not for others on the internet to protect them, it's just completely unrealistic. The person that you responded to is the type of person that thinks that has never seen Footloose. Saying that something is prohibited to a child without explaining why or what it is will push the child towards it in very unhealthy ways. They don't realize how many catholic teens get pregnant because they have sex but don't have condoms because they're afraid their parents will find the condoms. Children are going to do things if they want to do them. You need to prepare and educate them and advise against it, but you can't stop them.

2. Rework 2B leggings and boots or delete them altogether.
3. Stop adding mini/micro skirts, and tight high boots.
4. Delete the Dance Pole furniture.
5. On top of all of this, Ban all Mods. Let's face the truth Mods are one of the main reasons why these people ERP.

This is obviously never going to happen because sex sells and they know that.

I mean, it's never going to go away, but there's 1 thing that the can do (and the ONLY thing they can do to mitigate ERP): Remove chat and emotes.

That's it. Where there is chat there is ERP. People will ERP in full armor, and mods are already banned, how well is that going?

1. What "lingerie" has been added to the game that you feel is a problem?
2. No worse than swimsuit briefs (and far better than string bikini briefs when it comes to skin coverage).
3. As much that I would like to see more knee/calf lengths skirts added instead of miniskirts, the miniskirts aren't a problem. Nor is any type of footwear.
4. Removing the Dance Pole furnishing doesn't accomplish anything when players are still able to do the same dancing without it.
5. Mods don't create ERPers.

You do realize that the first 3 of your points are basically blaming women for ERP, don't you? You're saying that if women didn't wear such items then ERP wouldn't happen. Were you going to bother addressing a man's responsibility for ERP or are they blameless in your eyes?

ERP in various forms has been part of human society for centuries. It's not going to suddenly disappear because you remove a couple of items from a game.

The best SE can do is set standards for how players are expected to behave when they're around other players.

Educating children about and protecting them from sexual activity might be the responsibility of parents but parents neglecting that responsibility doesn't make it right for others to expose children to sexual activity.

People need to learn to think with their brains, not their genitals. If someone has an urge that need to be addressed, please just take it to a private location.

I believe erp belongs anywhere that adults congregate and want to do it, so yes, it does belong there. I myself do not erp, with the exception of on discord, I just find the limitations of XIV's chat system makes it a pain in the arse when I prefer longer posts for any rp situation. I just feel that banning things is stupid.

It "will wash" if you can prove the person you were talking to wasnt a child, and you can prove that via chat logs.
