yes but that house now belong to an alt right ?, how do you transfer ownership to your main ?That's true for characters, but not players.
Last lottery, I (one player) entered 8 times in the lottery for one small plot, using the 8 housing-qualified characters on my account [on that world]. My odds of winning were 8X better than a player that only entered once: 18% instead of 2.3%.
I won, BTW.
You can't but doesn't change the fact that you own a house. Which is why people like the one above you put in multiple entries to try to shift the odds in their favor. The point is to get one.
Unless it's an FC then it can be transferred.
I never thought our family (my husband and kids play) would ever get anything but a small for our FC and we were fine with that, but if we could, we wanted to get something bigger to decorate and play with. We'd placard clicked for our homes and were thrilled with the lottery eliminating that madness. Cycle #6 we put one bid in on a LB large and won. We were shocked, giddy and over the moon, because we knew the odds were against us since we only bid once. Many of us who were proponents for the Lottery, KNEW that our chances of getting a plot would become much lower. We still advocated for the Lottery anyway because our guiding principle was that EVERYONE should have the same chance as others of getting a plot. All many of us wanted was a fair system, even if it meant our own chances greatly diminished.

omg plot 58 one of the most beautifull plot in the game !!!!!
congrats !
Depends on what you mean by "alt."
For all things housing related, the character that won the lottery instantly became my "main" housing character.
I have another character that's my main glamour character, a main mentor character so I can get my friends that 20% XP boost when we run together, a main crafting and gathering character, and a main experience-the-MSL-slowly character, a main running-a-popoto-is-hilarious character and so on.
Alt-vs-main is an arbitrary and somewhat meaningless distinction, especially when you have more than one character that's at endgame and/or has all crafters and/or gatherers to 90.
that is unfortunatly a playstyle that i could never have, i mean i got this character since 2012 and got way too attached to it, not to mention to split task amongst character meh, but it is sure an interesting take on the subject, never thought someone would play the game like this ^^Depends on what you mean by "alt."

If you haven't re-done the ARR MSQ in it's present incarnation as a popoto, you've missed out on some fun times.
Heck, just re-running the MSQ after all these years is fun. Like watching an old movie you really liked.
How the stupid ward housing works is the primary reason my interest in housing begins and ends with my apartment/fc room. The mere fact that your house can just get handed to someone else if you have to take a break from the game is asinine. This doesn't even take the unlikely acquisition into account. All that time and resources, just gone forever for no other reason than life getting in the way.
Attaching FOMO to a core game feature is by far the dumbest design decision they could have ever made for this game. If you manage to kill interest in housing for an avid housing designer, you've seriously screwed up.
There's 1 medium house left on my server & it has over 100 bids
:/
I'd get an apartment if it had the same amenities as a private plot- which is larger item space, bottom as well as top floors, larger item storage and a yard (garden included bc I do gardening)
Housing should not be this frustrating to deal with in any mmo
I hope new wards will be released again very soon with the majority being private plots over FC plots
