I actually won my house through dedication as in I sat there for hours upon hours clicking. Some people won their house by pure chance, and just by casually checking housing openings and clicking.Exactly this. You were rewarded for dedicating, and before anyone riffs on ppl who used scripts to do it, know that these same people ran a risk of being exploited by retainers selling trash goods and ludicrous prices. This new system demands no effort and gives everybody horrendous chances. I called it, I said before it went live that this system would be trash. Everybody who was defending it kinda looks silly now, don't they

Spent 4 hours clicking on a placard when I got my plot, which was a small at the time. I don't miss that at all. x_x
This was me. I needed another house like a hole in the head but it was in a beautiful spot, I was amazed nobody was camping it, and curiosity got the better of me. The first one I won after placard camping and I eventually let it go.

Not really, please don't lump everyone into the same group. There are several players, including myself who prefers the lottery system to the placard clicking system, despite the lowered odds of obtaining a house.Exactly this. And do you know why? It's because now we can actually play the game during our leisure hours which is already extremely limited as opposed to clicking the bloody placard for hours with no end in sight. I entered a lottery last round with over 200 bids and even though I lost, I still massively prefer the lottery because I'M NOT WASTING MY TIME NOT PLAYING THE ACTUAL GAME.
I mean honestly, I think being able to buy houses in the same manner you buy apartments would solve a lot of issues. a lot of people who've voiced their opinions did say the same, and a lot of people are fine with a house without the whole neighborhood (they're mostly empty anyway)
SE can't keep those who already invested in their house on a leash if they change things for the better.I mean honestly, I think being able to buy houses in the same manner you buy apartments would solve a lot of issues. a lot of people who've voiced their opinions did say the same, and a lot of people are fine with a house without the whole neighborhood (they're mostly empty anyway)

At this point don't put stock in housing for this game. It will most likely just piss you off. I don't care about the reasoning but imo the folks helped rebuild Ishgard shouldcbe able to live there. Every last person. They ever pull another hosting restoration somewhere and the lottery is still in place I'll be skipping that full sale
You say that like SE actually needed players to participate in Ishgard Restoration for Empyreum to exist. At this point don't put stock in housing for this game. It will most likely just piss you off. Choosing not to participate is just you losing out on Skybuilders Scrip items, it's not any kind of meaningful protest.
And non-crafters also should have a chance at housing which the lottery provides.
