Time to Restart Housing Demolition

My spouse and I lost a small and a medium to auto-demolition a few years ago, and have no regrets about it.
We have both managed to get houses using the new lottery system.
So your assumption that I have a personal stake in this is just another of your mistakes, and typical of the nastier kinds of arguments from the anti-auto-demo crowd, who try to smear everyone who disagrees them.

A better instanced housing system is what is needed. With an instanced system:
- no need for demolition or other methods of taking earned rewards away from players
- no need for a lottery
- no need for timers
- no need for awkward ownership rules about who can own what or what character is eligible to enter for plot relocation

Resuming demolition is still going to leave more players without a house than are able to get one thanks to demolition. It is not a solution.

As for when SE will resume it? Right now my bet is on 7.0. They need players to choose to move to the new worlds getting added over the next year or so. The harder it is to get a house on the existing worlds, the more players will consider a transfer to get a house.

What blows my mind about these statements is how many people act like they know a god damned thing about me.

What we know of you comes from the posts you've made since you joined the forums. That is what you end up getting judged by.

If what you write in your posts doesn't accurately reflect the type of person you are, maybe you should write them in a way that reflects the real you.

Well, see, they told the other poster ~clearly you haven't been through war or a disaster~, but when confronted by someone who has been through a natural disaster (I'd love to see anyone call Florence anything but), the goalposts had to be moved. There will always be real-world disasters. Not all disasters are equal. What's going on Ukraine is terrible. We've turned off demolition for less though. On another post, I mapped out every time demolition was turned off since it was first turned on. Nearly every time it was for weather related things (Typhoons, Hurricanes, etc). These are localized disasters. Even the Ukraine Crisis is localized - however the damage is extended.

Personally, SE should consider making a statement that demolition will be turned on/off on a DC by DC basis. Players should recognize that if a natural or man-made disaster befalls an area, the DC that is designed to service that area may see auto-demolition turned off.

Hurricane in the US? US DCs might be affected. Typhoon in Japan? Their DCs might see auto-demolition turned off. Severe blizzard in Europe with no power for an extended period of time? EU servers might see auto-demolition turned off.

I have a question for SE though - if there is a player in Ukraine that has their sub on auto-pay, are they refunding them automatically? Or are they still taking their money while they are running from the carnage?

Permanently. It was a bandaid fix when SE realized they'd miscalculatd how popular housing was going to be and how demand was outstripping the supply and they had no workaround.

Fix the supply issue, demolition becomes a thing of the past.

That would really help me who has 4 houses thanks. I can stop paying my sub for a year and come back to 4 houses still.

I Should add, what's your suggestion to fix the supply issue?

IF you want more wards, then they have to keep adding more servers. What happens when whole wards of players aren't playing anymore, those wards are essentially dead because there is no turn over of housing for the 60+ accounts that aren't paying their subs anymore.
