I'm not paying $15 a month just to lose the lottery every time

I don't even care that this post will either get deleted, get no attention, or that I'll get flamed cuz that's right I'm here just to scream into the stupid void I'm only already not even caught up on the 6.1 storyline anyways I'm so uninterested I stopped playing essentially less than 2 months into the expansion but I kept my sub active anyways but this is just LAME.

Well over 100 available basic small plots available to spread attention around, many of which only have a lottery of 2-3 players and I STILL can't get a house. And I've been waiting literally god dang forever and this was my best chance. BeTtEr LuCk NeXt TiMe hurr hurr hurr nah man better luck for everyone else next time I'm sick of this garbage I couldn't get a house before in the old system cuz I didn't want to run a bot program to auto-click a placard for days on end and I can't get one on this system either because I have to wait what, 9 days irl just to lose even an extremely small lottery anyways.

Idk why I even kept my sub going but you know what this game just takes up my hard drive space and has been getting money out of me for actually no reason and yeah nobody is gonna care that I'm gone cuz the servers are still pretty full the game is doing really well but like I said I'm just screaming into the void I hate this so much I ain't doing it anymore freaking swtor has available housing and that game is old and lame but at least I can just drop some credits and get started decorating but on this game I can house hunt for 2+ years and end up empty handed fffffffffffffff

Why is Housing in FFXIV such a make or Break for some people? Only keeping a Sub ($15 a month) so you can keep your house/Get a house in a videogame
No shade and Im not trying to insult anybody, but is a virtual house really THAT important? Sure Id like one to if I could get the gil for one and not be poor, but Im not unmotivated to play the game over it.

But no, I can get behind how frustrating the process is as well. A lottery is a pretty dumb idea...

Because you have people who plays a game Just for PvP, and some for PvE. You can find people who play just to make RP, or dress the character. The same way, we have people who like housing, and play just to explore this system.

I like it as a feature in other mmo games, like I mentioned swtor and my house in that game is hella decorated its just fun its nice its something to do in down time

It's honestly a bit crazy how MMOs that are still going strong for 10-15 years have more extensive features than FF does. LOTRO is a really good example of this with their premium housing set up (buy as many houses as you want), standard housing with upkeep for f2p players and extensive events that make FF's look like they were thrown together in under an hour.

PSO2 is another example with one of the best glamour/fashion systems out there and their emote system is probably the best with hundreds to pick from and you can even sync your movements with another player without having to try 10 times to get the timing right like FF. They also have upgradable instanced housing.

SWTOR isn't in the best spot right now but their housing system should also be used as a reference for how to do it properly since you can own multiple strongholds.

There isn't an excuse anymore. Devs needs to just admit that the way they're doing housing isn't going to work and rework it to be instanced (even if it means ripping housing apart and rebuilding it), along with the handful of other things that are genuinely confusing as to why we dont have them.

If other games have been doing it for a literal decade, there's no reason why they can't provide the same.

Underlying game engines and coding vary immensely from game-to-game. And I'm not quite sure using LOTRO or SWTOR as examples of games "still going strong" is a good idea (I'm not familiar enough with PSO2 to know its real status). SWTOR is down to just a few servers, and LOTRO just announced closing another of their original world servers a few weeks ago.
