ALL materials for crafts that require gardening are still cheaper than 3 mill?

If someone only wants what can be crafted and were to buy all the minions, it would cost about 715K on my server atm (even less if you travel between worlds/data centers). This cost includes all other materials too, including rare materials that can often be sold for more than the minions/mounts on the MB. Each of the minions/mounts listed below requires inter-crossing (save the Allagan Melon) and multiple consecutive days of login for both intercrossing and growing the minions.

Many of these minions can already be obtained from retainers, fetes and GC loot boxes so in reality the total cost is much lower.

If you add the Flying Chair (115k - I got several from GC boxes) and Magicked Bed (1.8 M due to rare mats from maps), it is about 2.7 Mil total with immediate, guaranteed and effortless results.

You also have to add a 450k building permit to the purchase price of a small house.

I just grow Lavender indoors and outdoors: it’s easy to grow and I can exchange it for mats that sell well.

I think the workshop should be a FC only thing, and put the stuff to more use as it is.... remove the features to earn massive amounts of gil on the loot from the ships with creating a new tag that will flag for FC only, meaning if you load yourself with materials from that FC and leave, you can't do such unless you empty your inventory for FC property... and if you get kicked it would be lost materials.

As with all your many punitive suggestions, it's not going to put a dent in the demand from players.

A relative small number of homes will be freed up - likely far less than you think - but there will always be more players than homes as long as SE stay with this very limited always-running-zone ward design they favour for whatever reason.

you need the seeds to craft the stuffed vegies to..

But what if someone wants to be the one selling.. what if gardening relaxes someone like fishing to others??
For now SE just make a 4 pot Garden box for your fc room or apartment,, So people can crossbreed..dosent matter why they wanna do it. (Yes another bandaid fix)

Yes many wont put in the time to crossbreed ..but some are like me and really like gardening..I knew onions n leveling choc's would be big for shadow bringers i had 50 onions ready to sell for months n months of hard work... man a ton for my hardwork

For those who genuinely like gardening, certainly they need a house.

But how do they know they like gardening that much unless they have access to it? That's why I always suggest getting added as a tenant to another player's house if they're interested in gardening and only gardening when it comes to housing. Or at the very least take what I call the Thavnairian Onion test (get a Thavnairian Onion seed and grow it successfully in a flowerpot). Give gardening a try before you commit gil for something you may learn you don't enjoy.

If someone only wants to buy a house to get access to a garden to bypass purchasing items off the marketboard, it's a waste of gil. All those players who complain about Thavnairian Onion prices - are they even thinking? What sense does it make to spend 3 million gil on a house so they don't have to pay 1.2 million for the Onions?

That's why I wrote "If someone only wants what can be crafted". If someone only wants the result, they are better off with the MB. However, I agree with you, some people like gardening and in the end it is them who end up growing the most demanding things.

SE should fix this ridiculous housing system or at least have different size options for apartments and an indoor garden in the apartment buildings. Since weather is an issue when it comes to gardening, they could make a dedicated instanced garden area with weather that would be accessible in a way similar to inn rooms/ GC rooms.

It is a video game, and it is not a punishment?

Explain to the fullest, unless you run several shell FC's and reap in the reward for possible resell, then I can't see what anyone has against it?

I made the same suggestion about 2, 3 or so months ago before I realised it's just a meaningless suggestion that will achieve nothing, apart from allowing SE to kick the can further down the road, so, I guess, consider adding your voice to the growing number of people asking SE for a real solution to the problem, and not just apply yet another bandaid that won't even make a dent in the demand.

Okay, notice how QUICKLY this went from "gardening needs to be something everybody can do" to "housing is bad"?

That's how much the average person is fixated on the current shape of reality, they can't even picture any solution for a lack of gardening that isn't an increase in housing.

Fixing the sphagetti code that locks time in place in the apartment instances, that somehow prevents weather effects, that somehow prevents seeds from growing and cross breeding from working, and then making a special indoor planter for apartments... it would work.

Instead "housing bad" for a few pages.

You think you want gardening until you get it, then you find out it's actual work that requires arcane knowledge only few of us are blessed with; or just a decent guide, and even then you'll mess up crossbreeding.
