Can no longer key bind auto-run to the "clear" key on apple keyboard

Hi,

I've always used my apple keyboard and used the "clear" key as my auto-run key, but after one of the first endwalker patches, I can no longer bind anything to that key. When I try, I now get the message, "Commands can not be assigned to that key."

I've used that key for years playing this game (as well as others), and it's really annoying that it no longer works. I haven't been able to find a fix for the last few months. Does anyone have any advice for how I can get it to work again?

We are sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing. Are you currently running Final Fantasy XIV through the Mac or Windows client? Additionally, is the keyboard that you are currently using an external device? Are you experiencing this same issue in other games?

Thank you for the message Mieleoneis. I've been out of town so I couldn't reply.

I am running FFXIV through the Mac client. The keyboard is plugged directly into my iMac via USB (no adapters). It's an apple keyboard with the numpad. I have not ever experienced this issue with any other app or game - and I have not had this issue playing FFXIV until first Endwalker patches.

I'm not a mac user so take this with a grain of salt, but have you checked your computers keybinds? It might be conflicting with something.

I checked my shortcuts (keybinds) in system preferences and find nothing using the clear key. I did actually try to bind something there to the clear key as well just to test it, but it didn't work either. The clear key does work when editing text/calculator etc, but when I try to modify a keybind to it, nothing happens. It looks like it accepts the keybind in system preferences, but then nothing is actually showing as bound to the key. Really frustrating.
