Character cannot move using W, A, S, D

I've had no issue with the W key in word/wordpad, or online that I can see. The W key seems to work everywhere else.

Sorry to be asking an obvious question, but if other keys do work for movement and she isn't likely to have developed muscle memory for WASD, why not use alternate keys? Also, do the arrow keys work as expected for movement? Mouse?

I'm not suggesting giving up entirely, and I understand wanting to solve the mystery and being worried that other, yet unseen but potentially related, issues may pop up down the road. That said, alternate movement keys might be best for now so she doesn't tire of the tech issues and can dive into the game to see if it's for her. Just an opinion on possible option, you of course know your mum best.

I'm not probably not as helpful as some of the other posts here, but if it's just WASD not working, you can get by pretty well with Q, E and Mouse movement. I tend to find myself moving that way with standard controls in raids. Might be worth a shot if all else fails!

I apologize for the delay in our response to your concern. Doe this issue with the W,A,S,D keys occur in any other game? When it happens, are there any other external devices (such as a mouse, headphones, speakers, etc) plugged into your mom's pc? Lastly I did want to double check with the in game settings. Are the controller settings in game set to " keyboard" or "game pad"?

Could you also provide a system report as well? Could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.
