Ah. I don't think FF14 is the type of game for you, TC.
WoW may be better for you if you prefer that type of interaction.

If you're gonna put something in my mouth, don't make it words.
It's really funny to read this kind of message based on this urban legend that says that ff14 players are much less toxic than wow players when it's the same thing.
The only difference with wow is that on ff14 most of the toxic players imagine they have an irreproachable behavior it's really laughable ahah...
So for you not to like Yoshi-P deserves an expulsion to wow, I see.
And to those who fantasize about the mods intervening and banning anyone who has had an opinion that goes against yours and triggering you I will expose the hard truth
Are you ready ?
The topic will end up not being of interest to anyone and will sink like the others, no intervention or deletion because the topic doesn't break any rules. I'm really sorry but the Dynamis that you are showing can't do anything in front of the power of the facts
I got the answer I wanted I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't like what Yoshi-P is becoming
Thank you.
In regards to healers with the recent "do Ultimate and suffer" thing, it comes after years of Yoshida continually lying about the direction of healers in the game and his dismissal towards healer player concerns for years now. While that example in particular may have been an example of egregiously poor translation and misinterpreting what the question was asking (because the point was not "wtf healers are bored because savage easy???" but instead "healers are boring in every form of content because 1 button spam isn't fun and even savage and ultimate don't fix this issue, do you have any plans to fix healer downtime) it comes from a long string of less than acceptable comments from Yoshida about healers within the past few years, such as "Scholars aren't healing and leaving White Mages to heal, so we're removing their DPS buttons because of that" which was proven to be a lie, "We couldn't think of what to do with the Scholar" after years of repeated feedback and people asking for a reversal of ShB SCH direction, things like "healing will be much harder and you'll have to focus on it more", etc etc. When Yoshida isn't giving these kinds of responses towards healer concerns, healer concerns are otherwise not even being heard and are being ignored in live letters and changes that other jobs get regularly during patches.I fully agree that the healers need to be reviewed.
Having said that, I suspect a simple communication error on his part. Something that happens to everyone. In exactly the same way, wow players screamed when they were told not to play a certain warlock spec, claiming it was the ultimate disrespect.
When in fact, it was certainly an admission of weakness, lack of planning, an unfortunate phrase dropped a bit quickly or simply that the developers were in some kind of impasse at that moment.
So it doesn't seem to me to be enough to hate a director who manages his MMORPG well; and who, above all, keeps the right to be human (and therefore to make mistakes).
Not trying to go off the rails and make this about healers specifically, but I think big picture matters when it comes to discerning how people feel about Yoshida. Looking at it from the perspective of long-term players who have continually had their concerns, suggestions, etc met with this type of behavior, it's not hard to understand why people may not be too fond of him. Personally I don't have any feelings towards him, I don't know him personally and I can't make any judgments on him - but I will say that BLM shows that when it's something he particularly cares about, job design is able to be amazing even in the ShB+ era. EW BLM is a master class of job design. It's just a shame that its beginning to really feel like if you're not apart of one of the small specific groups that Yoshida or the developers care about (DPS jobs, BLM, Lalafell, etc) and are instead apart of one of the groups they really don't care about (Healers, Hrothgar, etc) that they really don't care what you have to say about the game at all.
How do you know what they're capable of? How do you know what their resources are or the budget they're allowed by their parent company is? Do you work there? Are you the CFO approving or denying those budget items? No, it's code for "They're a multimillion dollar company, let's not expect the same effort and quality as we do for small indie companies". Square Enix isn't some tiny company that can't afford to fix things. Yes, we can treat the employees like humans. But when the employees underdeliver compared to what they're capable of, it's fair to ask why.
Why is it so hard to just keep the personal out of things and say "I'm very unhappy with X decision and these are the reasons why I feel it's a bad move"?
Lol I never said that XD.
Let me help:
- Give feedback to drive the developpers to fix issues and improve the game = GOOD
- Telling someone is faking tears to get sympathy = BAD
Like seriously, if I was a developper, I would NEVER open the forum, it would break me.
Or if skin is too thin they could just have a questionnaire each month. I can come up with some easy questions. Are you happy with X roll. Is crafting to hard. Is gathering not engaging enough. Are you happy we have cut the amount of dungeons. Do you want to see more trash mobs and explore dungeons. Do you want content to be designed in away so it can be soloed in the future. Should we abandon GC ranks. Have we done enough to alleviate inventory issues. Are you happy with housing. Should a pretranslated LL be prepared.
I could probably come up with a hundred if not a thousand yes or no questions. Then they can be posted and stickied under a new forum. Each question can then have a multiple choice derived from the thread. Use upvotes I guess, or some other metric to make questions. So if 90% vote "Not happy with healer roll". The next month could be A) more healing B) increased dps C) less tank mitigation/heal D) less healing
Some things aren't really a feedback situation. Stormblood was poorly designed to launch. This is just a fact. I am sorry if that hurts devs feelings. But sometimes people need to be accountable and hear about their mistakes. And the tear thing I dont actually want a dev to read that stuff anyways. SE can afford a pr/community manager. They can read the announcement. Having devs do it is just a cop out.
In Japanese Society and Culture, honor is very Important.
And yet, this Guy has no problem lying openly to the Playerbase of FF.

I get it. He was responsible for saving FFXIV.1:14:22
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
But I don't trust him.
And I don't like him.
Systems change as with the community. If the demand for housing far outweighs the current supply of housing then it only stands to reason that auto-demolish should be included to combat people who no longer play, yet retain a limited resource in high demand. In Japanese Society and Culture, honor is very Important.

You say this as if it were an act of malice and not a case of he just changed his mind regarding the direction as he saw the game and community evolve and grow.
Words should never be treated as gospel and should always be treated like they are subjected to change.

The simple reality is that ideas can change over time. If you're going to "not like" someone because they ended up having to change one single idea they had almost 10 years ago...personally, I think you're holding people to an impossible standard that will lead only to not liking practically all of humanity. You do you - just saying it might not be the healthiest approach to hold some sort of grudge over something that small.
