But the problem is that i mentioned several times is that they need to hire someone to mod the na forums proper. We didn't have one in a while that could consolidate the positive feed back. If you hop in the other forums you notice that they do it proper.

Quick edit: Or if they want proper feedback, they can do a survey by putting it on the official site itself not by email.

Its only the english forums that having the issue. The last person i want to say that actually was part of it before they stepped down was back in hw. If we had a better moderation alot of feedback would had been given to them, but you know the usual always happens

Same few people white knighting all the time - you do come up a lot in that category.

This really isn't the strong argument you think it is. Reddit is a hivemind, but it's not always a negative one. Not even close. If you followed any game, live action series, anime or even political subreddit, the opinion always tend towards one direction. The Star Wars prequel subreddit tends overwhelmingly towards positive, but will you say that they were good or popular movies with the masses? If you want another example, try to say that you didn't like the messy Wano arc in One Piece's mainsub and see how it goes.
Some communities even have very distinct positive and negative subreddits (even heard of r/gameofthrones vs r/freefolk?)

So the fact that EW is popular on FFXIV's main sub means absolutely nothing.

Indeed, it's one of the most peculiar defences I've seen utilised in defending the game. That site may as well be a shrine to the game at times.

Man, this reminds me of a time months ago when I posted on one of the threads in r/ffxiv about my dissatisfaction with the Endwalker story. I was instantly at like -60 downvotes, my comment was buried, and angry fans were typing out long paragraphs to me laced with profanity. The FFXIV subreddit is truly something else.

That happened to a person I know on here as well, with the usual slipping into DMs, stalking and other associated hostility. We've seen how elements of this community treat streamers who dare express a dissenting view as well.

as someone, who comes from a different game, I should admit Yoshi-P is much better at what he does than people who hold similar positions in other games.

And Yes,even if he's a business man (not saying he is) ,he does business while also trying to accommodate community needs to a decent degree (we still want instanced housing tho), rather than focusing on solely profit.

I've never liked this argument. "It's not as bad as x, y, or z, so you can't call out its flaws." We get it. WoW is worse than FF. Lost Ark is worse than FF. That doesn't mean that Yoshi gets a pass when he screws something up. And the more people try to use this excuse to give Yoshi free passes, the more you're going to have people dislike Yoshi because of how easy he has it despite screwing things up.

Do you not notice the vast contrast from the man who cries over delaying content and the man who mocks his own playerbase for being too needy?

Yoshida is not an actor paid by Square Enix to fake tears and do some sick marketing.
He's a pationate game developper with huge responsabilities on his shoulders.

That's the persona he's sold you. He's successfully gotten you to buy into it.

He's dedicating his life to make ff14 successful.

A paying customer that not only desires but EXPECTS a quality product, and does not seeing Yoshi P crying every other LL as a valid excuse for why the product is not up to par. It worked the first time, but he's overplayed his hand and I don't care if he's upset or not anymore. Deliver me a quality product and I'll start caring again.

Also he has never mocking in an ill intended way the playerbase. Its only the playerbase overreacting to a joke about an issue he is aware about.

I am not going to rely on the baseless statements of a stranger on FF14 forum to forge my opinions.

There are many improvement I wish for the game.
But since ARR I am sastified with my FF14 experience, and I have great hopes for the future.
I will stop trusting Yoshida and his team once they gave me a real reason to, because so far they have not.
