The solution to the housing shortage. Now that Island Sanctuaries are coming out you can no longer pretend the tech to give everyone their own instanced housing plot was not possible.

Just add instanced housing, stop being stubborn about this for absolutely zero reason. Nobody cares about neighborhoods, they're all empty, nobody talks to people they aren't already friends with in this extremely anti-social game designed from the ground up to be anti-social.

There is zero reason to not add instanced housing. There is no longer an argument that it is not possible. Just add instanced housing and the complaining stops for good.

I don't know if it's technically possible, but couldn't you keep the neighborhood and make everything starting from the entrance to the plot instanced? If you want the (empty) neighborhood feel, just leave your garden.
I'm also fine with making it completely instanced. While the little cities are cute, they are also empty. Our Fc hangs out in and around our house, I don't see why we couldn't do the same in an instanced plot.

But giving a housing plot of land to people willing to pay for one with Gil is simply outrageous. How would we manage, if a subsection of our community weren't constantly angry and bitter? It's part of the experience! Remember when you guys pissed in bottles while clicking on placards for 9 hours straight only to lose to botters that we never banned? That was so classic, haha. I enjoy wards quite a lot, but we can have both things and should have already, honestly.
Leave most of wards for fcs and some for private, everyone else can enjoy their instanced place.
Its honestly baffling that they refused to add instanced houses to island sanctuary, really. They know that this is what the community wanted.

Its amazing almost every free to play game has instance housing lol DCUO-EQ2-SWTOR the list goes on...and those who say well they cant do it due to tech this n that..your talking about a company who realsed a trash game blew it up and then realsed what we have now ARR...they can do what THEY want if they want.. but when you work 2 jobs one suffers just like everyone else in the real world..but i bet ff16 is gonna amazing huh..wont be playing it my self...

Listen to your paying customers we want instance housing been asking for 5 years... basicly just make appartments upgradeable you pay 500k for 1 floor then let us pay to make it 2 floors (small house) 3 small floors (medium house) 3 large floors (large house)....

Then at the grand company squad door you add 2 more options 1 for a prviate workshop all your own u can level ur own subs and use the machine to make housing glams the 2nd door a small out door plot you can grown and crossbreed seeds...

INSTANCE HOUSING. Sell special houses on the mogstation. (SPECIAL houses, like an airship house, pirate ship house, Amaurot house, etc. Normal houses would still be for gil only) Sell item limit extenders on the mogstation: You'll make an absolute killing in profits. There is ZERO REASON to not instance housing. There's still thousands (hundreds of thousands?) Without houses.
