I tend the plants at my fc and friends garden regardless of if they need it at 6:30 every morning.
Easy to remember.
I either set a reminder on my phone or write it on a piece of paper.
I know one of those is foreign to people, so I offered an alternative.![]()
What if the plants just don't wilt and you can plant your seeds from anywhere using the FC menu? We can say we are streamlining gardening. :^)
Using alts you can be tenant to a lot more. Up to 336 spots more. You would need to log into alt to plant but you can tend all on primary character. The logistics in gathering all the soil for it would be a nightmare though.
And a
On top of all that you have flower pots too. Though to tend those you need to be owner or tenant.
As others have said, it's probably not something included in Estate timers because each plant would need to be listed separately and the harvest time can change based on use of fertilizer.
But I don't really need a timer to know I need to tend them at least once a day. I make it a habit to do it when I first log in, and hopefully just before I log out if not also when I visit my house at other times during the day.
If I'm trying to figure out how many days left before they're ready to harvest and I didn't track the planting date on some sort of text document or spreadsheet, their appearance is a clue (they have 3 different appearances as they grow).
If you don't know how long something takes to grow, https://www.ffxivgardening.com/ is a very good resource.
Marketboard - if the value of what you're growing isn't more than the cost of the topsoil, why are you growing it instead of just selling the topsoil?

I'd go a step further. Some sort of actual Gardening interface would be a very nice QoL.
Similar to seeing the values for your abilities on the new crafting interface, you could for instance see what effect this soil would have on this plant. You could see percentage chances of what you get based on what was planted where. There would be a Tend All option so you could tend to everything in the given plot at once. And lots of other ideas. I feel things like Gardening and Fishing need overhauls of their entire interfaces, so this information is available in game and not just on outside websites.
No idea why!
