Step 1. Stop calling us "females".
Step 1. Stop calling us "females".
I mean the way they say "females" has the same energy really. Women or biological women or cis women are all perfectly fine.
When people use the word females like that though it makes a lot of us feel like we're being talked about like some form of game or as if we're another species altogether. Can't you understand that it's really, really off putting?

And the same thing will happen with those other words when people are looking for a new reason to be offended and so people will struggle to come with up new words to use that aren't supposed to be offensive but eventually will be.

I'm female. I fit the definition for the word. It's been the answer to many questions asked over my relatively long lifetime. I'm not offended because the word wasn't being used to offend. It was being used to describe.
And yet you still need to be offended even though he referred to himself as male.
I'd far rather be called "female" than "girl". I left being a "girl" behind before most of you were born.
I'd also rather be called "female" than "woman". Did you know that "woman" has frequently been used in a derogatory fashion over the years? "Woman, go get my sandwich and beer!" was something frequently heard back in the 70s and 80s, used to treat us as if we were servants.
Stop looking for reasons to get offended by word choice in ordinary conversation.

I really don't see the problem with it unless you're specifically referring to women as female but never refer to men as male.
Not everyone is a native English speaker either and even amongst native English speakers I really don't think there's some alterior motive behind people doing it.
I think it's VERY obvious when someone is doing it in a derogatory way and I don't think that the OP is.
The OP also refer to himself as male irl.
I just don't think this is something average people ever think about it's mainly something that becomes seen as problematic online because people read too much into things ( and granted some shitty people do it, but like I said it's very clear when they're doing it to be derogatory ).
In a lot of languages the two are also the same word so people will treat '' male '' and '' man '' the same in English too I really don't think it's that deep 99% of the time.
Like I mentioned above the OP refered to himself as '' male '' too.

I am not sure what you mean with '' like that ''.
I really think people are over-thinking this a lot, it's not only men referring to women as '' female '' either this is just how normal people speak who don't essentially live on the internet lol.
I think if someone is very clearly being derogatory about it then it's fair to point it out, but in this case it seems like people are reading way too much into the OP and their intent it's a bit silly.
Edit: I realize the OP is playing on a NA server, but that doesn't mean they're a native English speaker either nor that they're from the US.
And either way I really don't think most Americans ever think about this.
I try to avoid it with both men and women but it's something I actually have to actively think about and in all honesty I feel kinda stupid for overthinking it a lot of the time and it feels silly to me.
Literally the only reason I do it is to avoid arguments like these and people assuming I am a bad person because I said a perfectly normal word.
It's dumb.

"Woman" and "female" don't designate the same group of people. "Women" refers to older females.
This game is rated 14+, and I think I might take exception to someone referring to my 14-yr old niece as a "woman."
That said, on the Internet, saying you're looking to interact with distaff players is an invitation to be trolled by adolescent males or entrapped by the vice squad. Especially if you say "girls."
