It's not. It's *incredibly* easy to reach Crystal if you are at all consistent and competent. Yeah, you'll get bad teammates but the common denominator is you. If you're still in Bronze after a hundred games... hate to say it, bud, but it's because you're Bronze.

Made it to crystal again in one day

Though recently I did notice that some lower ranks have been popping up in the team ques like silver with all crystals
This is like a death sentence

Though I don't think the game is rigged against lower rank and cheating isn't a prevalent as everyone thinks
got my ult to silver in one day and if I cared for anything further I know I could get it
but crystal or not I don't see a point in climbing unless you really care for the portraits that only work in PVP

The system is made to push people up, there's no penalty for lose streaks and there's no demotion once you reach another tier. In S1 we saw a lot of people stuck in diamond for weeks but eventually they managed a winstreak to get into Crystal and the level of play suffered because of all these new 0 rating Crystals making queues miserable for anyone with somewhat high rating.

I've seen plenty of top 100 people finish their climb in less than 40 wins, while some people had to push closer to 300 wins to barely get into Crystal. The rank overall is pretty worthless considering how many people reached it. Only something like top 100 you can see people actually playing fairly solid and consistently.

I made it to crystal all the way from gold, and I have to admit it was basically like flipping a coin, you either get a consistent team that contest the crystal and is actually willing to play as a team, or you simply get bad team mates which was the most honestly of my queues, I don't really think all those videos about how to climb up and stuff is even worth anything else views, climbing to crystal or any rank is simply based mostly on luck, you can play horribly some matches and still manage to win because your team are trying to win and not a bunch of cry babies spamming good match and nice job after 1 death.

It took me days of constant grind in CC ranked, and about 210 victory to reach Crystal which is already insane, while some people got extremely lucky to top 100 with 30-50 win, it's all based on luck, flip the coin and queue and hope for the best.

It 14 I dont expect it to have any real penalties or rewards worth caring about
but in response to your comment on it damaging the player skill pool yeah thats 100% true get enough lucky wins and boom crystal

The whole system is designed for you to rank up, the issue is the way it implements itself isn't smooth or well calculated.

Instead of it creating a smooth climb it's creating this bipolar experience where you reach rank x tier 1 and you're hit with a hard wall and a bunch of loss sprees which then compounds to your team either stomping or getting stomped which feels super unnatural because you're not seeing player skill expression.

No point if you can hold a 4 player aggro from the objective if your team can't get an objective or some kills out of that. When it does happen it is rewarding though.

I mean, given the way you can't drop out of Crystal and Crystal Credit is the only thing that even begins to approximate matchmaking rating, I think it's clear you aren't supposed to be below Crystal for any length of time if you're serious about playing.

Which begs the question - why even have the lower brackets at all? Instead of having lower brackets, do like what a *ton* of other games do and have people play placement matches. I'd say 20 or so, since CC games are quite short. The system calculates your wins and losses against the players you were teamed with and against and determines what your initial Crystal Credit rating should be, and it's off to the races. Previous season performance would be taken into account with placement matches, so players that finished high last season will likely start high in the following season.

And then you just dump the tier system entirely and make it purely cosmetic. 1000 or less, that's Bronze. 2000, 3000, and so on. Top 300-101 is Masters or something, then top 100 is Grandmasters or something.

Just made it to crystal yesterday, main SCH. Holy moly, it really depends on team comp. Yet, I see what the problem is, but there’s nothing much anyone can do unless you actually have some form of commmunication…..not auto chat..the most useless tool there is. I can’t stand the auto chat, used to be a good thing, now it’s such an annoyance when it’s spammed.

It’s one of those things where you just have to pray, but play the class the way that gives you a high chance of KOs or wins. When if you end up having 6 losses in a row, just do it another day and try again. You may get 4-5 wins in a row and get your stars back what it was when you lost 6 times.
